Stanley Cup Playoffs 2012: Why Los Angeles Kings Will Win It All

With the Los Angeles Kings all set to take care of business in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the Phoenix Coyotes, it's becoming more and more clear that the Kings are the best bet to win the Stanley Cup.

As the eighth seed, there is always a legit hope that a team in such a position can do some damage in the playoffs, and the Kings are living proof.

Not only have they taken care of business, but they've dominated every series in the Stanley Cup playoffs thus far.

Here's why the Kings will take home Lord Stanley's Cup in 2012.

Jonathan Quick

There isn't a single goalie better than Quick in the playoffs at the moment, and that's including the man they call "King" Henrik Lundqvist.

Quick had an impressive regular season with a 1.95 GAA, but he's become even better lately. In the playoffs, he's allowing 1.41 goals per game, which is less than half of his average in the 2010-11 playoffs.

In fact, Quick has played in double the playoff games this year and allowed three less goals up until this point.

Most times, the NHL playoffs are about who has the best goalie. The Kings will go as far as Quick can take them and it appears he has the goods to take them to the promised land.

Incredible Depth

The Kings depth is absolutely incredible in these playoffs. It seems they are getting scoring from all of their lines in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

On their third line, the Kings have gotten eight goals from the likes of Jarret Stoll (2), Dwight King (5) and Trevor Lewis (1). And I haven't even gotten to the production Los Angeles has gotten from their first two lines.

Chris Zupke of NHL.com perfectly spelled out the contributions that each line has given night in and night out in their series against the Coyotes.

L.A. continues to get big performances from all four lines. In Game 1 it was Brown's line. In Game 2 it was the second line of Dustin Penner, Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. In Game 3 it was time for Stoll, King and the unsung Trevor Lewis, who took a hit in the corner to set up King's fifth goal of the playoffs.

That ability for the Kings to put the puck in the net no matter who is on the ice gives them a distinct advantage over any team left in the playoffs.

Extra Rest

The Kings are currently 11-1 in the NHL playoffs and have faced little adversity in their march to the Stanley Cup.

That being said, they are incredibly well rested and that could give them a leg up against any team they might face in the Stanley Cup, if and when they get there.

Both the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers (both potential opponents for the Kings in the Stanley Cup) have had one or more long series to battle through and that could add some extra fatigue for players who have already gone through a long season.

There's no doubt that Los Angeles is the freshest team left in the playoffs.
