Another day, another new name on the Arsenal transfer target list.
Simon Jones of the Daily Mail is reporting that Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diame is drawing attraction from Arsenal, along with Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa.
Yup, add him to the bunches.

The Gunners have already signed German striker Lukas Podolski to a long-term deal, and they have plenty of other targets on the radar. Yann M'Vila is reportedly very close to signing with the Gunners—although it's not official yet—and Arsene Wenger is reportedly a fan of Jan Vertonghen, even though his interest in Tottenham will be hard to overcome for the Gunners.
And we're just two days into the transfer window.
Arsene Wenger and Arsenal are being insanely aggressive right now. If things happened slightly differently, the Gunners could have easily secured three new additions already.
This aggression, of course, is a good thing. If nothing else, it provides important depth and quality throughout the entire field. At the very most, however, it will convince Robin van Persie to extend his contract.
Van Persie, who is set to have talks with Arsene Wegner on Wednesday without making a decision, can go to any club he wants. He scored a ridiculous 30 EPL goals in 38 matches this season, and he has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world. He is a completely different type of player than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but RVP is world-class at what he does.
If he wants to go to Barcelona, he can go there. If he wants to go to Real Madrid, he can go there. If he wants to go to the Seattle Sounders, he can go there (please!).
This is why Arsenal, in light of the upcoming talks, needs to prove to van Persie its intent on contending in the Champions League and providing him with league titles.
Different factors will eventually play into van Persie's decision, such as proximity to home and his relationship with certain managers, but the ability to play and win in the Champions League is almost always concern No. 1 for top players such as RVP.
By spending early money, Arsene Wenger is proving to the Dutch International that he is serious about winning. And with the exception of improving the rest of the team, there is no more important thing right now than making Robin van Persie happy.
