Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Wisely Avoiding Major Overhaul This Summer
Liverpool finished a disappointing eighth in the Barclays Premier League this season, but did compete in the FA Cup final and captured the Carling Cup.
Despite their poor league performance, they did find a way to compete for two trophies this campaign, and that is something worth being excited about.
They won't compete in the Champions League next year, but they will be competing in Europa League, Carling Cup and Premier League play all next season.

They need all the talent they can get but, more importantly, talent they can trust.
Manager Kenny Dalglish went out and overhauled the club's roster last summer signing the likes of Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing, Sebastian Coates and Craig Bellamy.
They also saw club captain Steven Gerrard return from injury, although he struggled to return to form.
Liverpool are far from a perfect club and certainly do need to make a few changes before next season starts, but they don't need to make the wholesale changes they made a year ago.
In fact, the one thing this squad lacks right now is continuity.
Dalglish seems to think the same and was quoted by the Daily Mirror saying:
""We don’t want anyone to go,” he said. “We’re going to have a lot of games next year – the Europa League, Carling Cup and Premier League all before Christmas.
“The better we do in the first two competitions, by the turn of the year we could have four competitions.
“So, the only one we’re losing is Fabio because his contract is up. We’re not interested in losing anyone else. Our intention is to add to what we have got."
"
Two players in particular, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt, are ideal candidates to leave Anfield after failing to see their desired first-team opportunities.
Kuyt could easily scurry back to the Dutch league from whence he came several years ago, but the 31-year-old Dutch star has reportedly ruled out a return to former club Feyenoord.
That doesn't mean he won't try to find himself a new club, but he won't get out of Red without a fight from the boss.
The Reds want experienced backups for their extensive competition next campaign and overhauling the roster won't get it done. Dalglish has a lot of players and egos to balance as things stand now, and keeping veterans he knows close is the best way to combat that.
Liverpool does have some work to do, but it's fine-tuning rather than overhauling.
