Brock Lesnar: Most Intriguing Feuds for Superstar After Rivalry with Triple H

Mike ChiariJun 7, 2018

Paul Heyman returned on Monday to say that Brock Lesnar had quit the WWE, but fans obviously know better than that. Lesnar "broke" Triple H's arm two weeks ago when he vetoed the contract that Brock had negotiated with John Laurinaitis. This was clearly done as a way to write both Lesnar and Triple H off of television before they build toward a match at SummerSlam.

Lesnar is still under contract through next year's WrestleMania, though, so there are plenty of other possibilities for him after that. Lesnar has already finished his business with John Cena, but the fans would obviously love to see him go against many of the other present-day stars that he hasn't had an opportunity to face yet.

Here are the three most intriguing feuds for Lesnar once he and Triple H finish things up sometime around SummerSlam.

CM Punk

Seeing as he is the No. 2 face in the company behind John Cena currently, it makes a ton of sense for Lesnar to go after CM Punk in due time. Punk has held the WWE Championship for several months and has pretty much run the gamut in terms of feuds, so a program with Lesnar would be great for him. It would work on so many levels because Punk and Lesnar are opposites in just about every way possible.

Lesnar entered the WWE as an NCAA wrestling champion and was pretty much handed everything right away. Punk was a major star on the independent scene, but he had to scratch and claw to reach the top of the food chain in the WWE. On top of that, he's just an average-sized guy while Lesnar is an athletic freak, so he would be the overwhelming underdog in the feud. Punk could carry him on the mic and in the ring, so it would be an excellent spot for Lesnar to be in.

There were rumors that Lesnar might enter into a feud with Randy Orton after his match with John Cena, but that was apparently nixed by Lesnar's attack of Triple H. I would say that a program between Orton and Lesnar is on hold rather than dead, though, because they make for a really nice fit. Both are considered cold-blooded machines who are willing to cross anyone to get what they want, and that should lead to some intense moments and matches.

It's well known that Lesnar is lame on the mic, so unless Heyman sticks around, he's going to need someone else to do the brunt of the talking. Orton's promos can be a bit boring and formulaic, but at the very least he's smooth and doesn't mess up, so he could carry the load in that regard. There aren't many guys in the company who look capable of matching up with Lesnar in a legitimate fight, but Orton is one of them, and he would be a great face to stand up to Lesnar's antics.

Sheamus

He may not be at the same level as Cena, Punk or Orton yet, but Sheamus is undoubtedly one of the WWE's most popular stars, and he has been red hot since turning face last summer. Not only did he win the Royal Rumble, but he beat Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Championship in just 18 seconds at WrestleMania and has been booked as an unstoppable force for the most part. With all of that said, it would be like the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object if he faced Lesnar.

There hasn't been anyone in the company who has been able to match Sheamus' immense power, but Lesnar is a guy who can. Perhaps Lesnar can run roughshod over the WWE following a win against Triple H only for Sheamus to step up and attempt to stop him. A win would be huge for Sheamus, as he would continue to climb up the ladder, but the feud, regardless of the result, would be a major boost as well.
