College Football Recruiting 2013: The Top Commitment for Each Big Ten School

Edwin WeathersbyJun 7, 2018

The Big Ten is one of the premier and high-profile conferences in college football today. Boasting a wealth of tradition and history, this year figures to be a great year in the Big Ten.

On the recruiting trail, as I did with the SEC yesterday, I'm jut going to run down each school's top commitment thus far for the 2013 recruiting cycle.

Let's get started.

Indiana

1 of 12

Indiana has no commitments for the 2013 class at this time

Illinois

2 of 12

Aaron Bailey, QB

6'2", 225-pound Bailey is an outstanding athlete from Illinois who has a powerful arm and great speed. He's a prime dual-threat type, and he should work well in the Big Ten.

Bailey can escape the rush, get out of traffic, look downfield and throw a strike. Or he can just tuck it and outrun a defense to paydirt.

Iowa

3 of 12

David Kenney, DE

Kenney is a high-motor guy who is excellent in pursuit. He plays DE right now, but at 6'2", 255 pounds, don't be shocked to see him grow into a DT.

Explosive at the snap, Kenney flashes good hand quickness, works each snap and is quick to locate the ball.

Michigan

4 of 12

Shane Morris, QB

Morris is a 6'3", 190-pound lefty from Michigan who pledged to Big Blue as a sophomore. He has great arm strength to all levels of the field.

Morris also shows quick feet and good mobility. He can play inside the pocket or on the edges.

Michigan State

5 of 12

Jon Reschke, LB

Just like Dalton Santos a year ago, Reschke has a DE background. However, he's played Mike the last year and change, and he has looked good there.

Reschke is tough, physical at the point of attack and stands 6'2" and 225 pounds. He has solid speed to get outside the box and excellent ball location skills.

Minnesota

6 of 12

Keelon Brookins, CB

Brookins has fantastic play speed and could easily play WR for the Gophers. He's 5'11", 170 pounds and has great athleticism, burst and quickness.

As a corner, Brookins shows outstanding ball skills and instincts. He can man up and just carry his WR all around the field.

Nebraska

7 of 12

A.J. Natter, DE

Natter, from Wisconsin, has excellent size and competitiveness. An intense player at 6'6", 230 pounds, he has the tools and mental attitude of a future strong-side DE in college.

He plays with solid speed, good quickness of the ball and has a burst in pursuit to hawk ball-carriers from the back side.

Northwestern

8 of 12

Matt Alviti, QB

Alviti is a gamer—a big-time, tough, grinding gamer. He's a dual-threat guy who is productive, smart, aware and instinctive.

He's tough and gritty, has good accuracy and adequate arm strength. A leader, Alviti is only 6'0", but he plays lie he's 6'5".

Ohio State

9 of 12

Cameron Burrows, DB

With pledges from Joey Bosa, Jalin Marshall, Evan Lisle, Eli Woodard and J.T. Barrett, among others, I'm going with Burrows.

6'2" and about 200 pounds, he's a big cornerback. Yes, a cornerback, not a safety. Burrows has great speed, solid hips to turn and run and good foot quickness.

Penn State

10 of 12

Adam Breneman, TE

I'm going with Breneman over Christian Hackenburg. Breneman is the top TE prospect in the country on my board, as the 6'5", 225-pounder is natural joker type.

He's basically a WR right now, but he'll move into the seams in Happy Valley. Blessed with soft hands, a large catch radius, solid speed and good size, look for Bill O'Brien to work Breneman into a prime weapon.

Purdue

11 of 12

Danny Etling, QB

Etling is an Indiana native who stands 6'4", 190 pounds. He can dictate his own throwing lanes, see the field and deliver the football to targets. He shows starter potential for the Boilermakers.

Wisconsin

12 of 12

Rob Wheelwright, WR

A quicker than fast athlete, Wheelwright is a 6'2", 170-pound WR from Columbus who is headed to Wisconsin and not Ohio State.

Wheelwright has silky smooth athleticism, good hands and can pluck balls away in crowds. He's dangerous after the catch and is a plus RAC player.
