2012 NFL Draft Grades for Every AFC North Team
All four teams in the AFC North killed it in the draft, with none scoring lower than a B in my draft grades.
That B goes to the Cleveland Browns, who successfully addressed their biggest need early on—offense—by taking running back Trent Richardson and quarterback Brandon Weeden in the first round and used later picks on run stopping defenders. They get a B, only because they didn’t address wide receiver earlier.
The Baltimore Ravens did exactly what they needed to do this year in the draft. They got a linebacker, Courtney Upshaw, and a new starting guard in Kelechi Osemele, The rest of their picks added both depth and players who could contribute on special teams. They get an A from me.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Also receiving an A are the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just sat back and saw the draft’s best offensive guard, David DeCastro, fall into their laps in the first round and followed that up with another offensive lineman, tackle Mike Adams, in the second.
The remainder of their picks were spent on building depth in areas they needed most, as well as bringing in Alameda Ta’Amu, who should start at nose tackle immediately.
The Cincinnati Bengals had the A+ draft of the AFC North, starting strong with their pick of cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, who will finally replace Johnathan Joseph, who they lost in 2011.
Every round was spot on, with each of the Bengals’ biggest draft needs being met by highly talented players, including guard Kevin Zeitler in the second, wide receiver Mohamed Sanu in the third and tight end Orson Charles in the fourth. Cal receiver Marvin Jones was a steal in round five.
