WWE News: Internal Panic in WWE over Likely Upcoming Releases
Spring cleaning.
In the WWE, that term doesn’t refer to mopping, sweeping or Swiffering. It refers to the post-WrestleMania period in which the company typically releases a number of wrestlers from both the main roster and its developmental territory.
Over the last several years, this has become the norm, and though we have only seen one major release so far in 2012 (Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine), there is a lot of internal fear among WWE talent about getting the ever-so-dreaded “future endeavored” phone call.

"There's a lot of concerns about releases obviously, since it's about that time of the year. Several bios were removed from WWE.com, although we haven't confirmed if these were just storyline related since it was Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins removed as well as some NXT personalities. However, as one top star said to me, if you weren't on Wrestlemania or the European tour, there's cause for concern to be sure.

This isn’t really any different from any other year, as along with the annual spring cleaning comes an overwhelming sense of fear among infrequently used lower and mid-card workers or guys who have been stuck in developmental for awhile.
While I don’t want to speculate on any names out of respect for the workers, I think we all have a pretty good idea of who is or isn’t in jeopardy of being released.
If you’re stuck on Superstars and NXT and/or haven’t been on TV much recently, there’s no doubt that you’ve got a chance of being released within the next several weeks.
This is unfortunate for the WWE’s talent, but it happens every year.
I never like to see anyone lose his or her job, especially the incredibly talented workers who haven’t really gotten a fair chance to prove that they belong in the company. But I think it’s inevitable that that will happen once again this year.
While I assume that most of the people who are released hardly ever appear on TV, I also think we could see a shocking name or two that once had some serious potential end up getting future endeavored as a well.
That’s just the nature of the business.
