Zack Greinke: Milwaukee Brewers SP Aims to Remain Perfect at Miller Park

Jeff GrantJun 7, 2018

The Houston Astros (6-10) and Milwaukee Brewers (7-9) will open up a three-game National League Central series on Monday night at Miller Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 8:10 ET.

Las Vegas oddsmakers have opened up the Brewers as hefty -220 home favorites, while the total stands at 7.5 across the board.

Zack Greinke (1-1, 5.09 ERA) is behind the inflated price in the betting market for this particular contest, coming in with a perfect 12-0 record and 2.89 ERA in 17 starts as a Brewer at Miller Park.  He has registered a 1-0 mark and 1.29 ERA in two home starts this year.

The right-hander will gain further support at the windows due to his 3-0 mark and 1.71 ERA in three career starts versus the Astros, as he's not allowed a home run in 21 combined frames.

Greinke has limited Astros' slugger Carlos Lee to just three hits in 17 career at bats against him (.176), but will be looking to send him down on strikes for the first time ever tonight.

Sports bettors will find that the Brewers are 25-8 in Greinke's last 33 starts overall, while the "under" is 4-1 in their last five games overall.

Houston's offense exploded in a 12-0 home win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon, which was completely unexpected after the team scored just two runs combined while dropping the first two games of a three-game series.

The Astros are definitely up against many trends in this contest, including losses in nine straight meetings with the Brewers, getting outscored by a 57-19 margin.

Lucas Harrell (1-0, 2.55 ERA) provides the road team with some optimism, having tossed 5.1 shutout innings in his only career start against the Brewers on Sept. 12.

The right-hander has received no-decisions in his past two starts, with the club dropping one-run contests to the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals.

The Astros are 0-3 as a road underdog of +175 to +200 this season, with the "over" cashing in on two of those games.
