2012 Olympics Soccer Draw: Date, Time and TV Info
The first step toward Olympic glory for football teams around the world takes place on Tuesday as the groups are drawn for this summer's tournament in London. A lucky draw can be just as important to winning the gold as anything else.
Two-time defending champion Argentina didn't qualify for this year's games on the men's side. That opens the door for other teams to earn a medal for their country. The United States didn't make the tournament after failing to earn a berth despite home-field advantage in qualifying.
On the women's side, the United States will be looking to claim its fourth gold medal in five attempts since the women's sport was added in 1996. The Americans figure to receive a stiff test from Brazil and World Cup champion Japan.

Men—Spain
Led by Javi Martinez and Thiago, Spain has built itself an Olympic powerhouse that's expected to win Olympic gold. Teams are allowed to add three players over the age of 23. That gives manager Luis Milla plenty of options.
It's the first time La Roja have qualified for the Olympics since 2000, which illustrates how tricky the process can be for even the world's top squads. Their biggest challenges will likely come from Brazil and the host country, Great Britain.
Women—United States
Coming off the disappointment of last year's World Cup, featuring a Finals loss to Japan in penalty kicks, the United States hopes to defend its Olympic title. Carli Lloyd scored the tournament-winning goal in the 96th minute against Brazil.
The United States has many of the same faces that helped lead the team four years ago. One player that has emerged since then that will play a key role is Alex Morgan. The 22-year-old striker will need to provide some offensive punch for the Red, White and Blue to claim another gold.
