Brock Lesnar: Slowly Becoming Just Another Face in the WWE Locker Room?

Bill PivetzApr 16, 2012

Brock Lesnar debuted only two weeks ago, but it seems like he has been around for months.

His debut was awesome.

The fans popped huge when his music hit. Brock F5'd the one guy fans love and hate—John Cena.

But last week, the show was covered with Lesnar. He was in the opening segment, had an interview with Josh Matthews during the show and attacked Cena at the end of the show.

I know WWE wants to get the most out of Lesnar and his limited contract, but they need to make him feel special every time he comes out. I know I'm going to get some heat for this, but they should treat him like The Rock.

Rocky made limited appearances after his involvement at WrestleMania 27. He was used during the fall, leading into his first match in seven years at Survivor Series. Then, came the build to WrestleMania 28 where he and Cena went at it for several weeks.

Now that Rocky won, and made his claim that he wants one more run with the WWE Title, he hasn't been seen since.

Enter Brock Lesnar as Cena's next challenger.

If Cena wins at Extreme Rules, then Lesnar was brought in for nothing. He just becomes another man in the Raw shuffle.

The WWE needs to have Lesnar win.

After the match, Brock should appear less on Raw. And every time his music hits, the fans will go crazy.

I feel after Extreme Rules, Lesnar should appear only on Raw and not have a big-time match until No Way Out in June.

Whether it's with Cena or not is another story.

Again, Lesnar is not and will never be on the same level as The Rock. But in terms of short-term contracts for long-term gains, they need to be treated the same.

I was a fan of Lesnar when he ruled SmackDown and I am a fan of what he can do for the WWE now. It's been eight years since his last match and ring rust may be an issue, but this "legitimacy" angle their working with is fresh.

The only thing I don't like is the association with John Laurinaitis.

Brock doesn't need it.

After Extreme Rules, where do both men go? Do they continue their feud into the next pay-per-view? Do they part ways and feud with two other Superstars?

What about the draft—does Lesnar go back to SmackDown?
