WWE Rumors: Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and Thursday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsApr 12, 2012

When WWE tries to do something right, we have seen how well it can work. The Brock Lesnar and John Cena brawl on Monday night worked because it was something that we don't see in the company today.

That is not the kind of thing you can do all the time, or else it would become stale, but there does need to be some shift in the way these wrestlers are presented. Everyone looks the same, acts the same and talks the same. We need a variety to keep the product going.

One thing that will never change, because it doesn't have to, is the way we present you with the latest rumblings and grumblings from behind the scenes in WWE.

UNDERTAKER READY TO ROCK WRESTLEMANIA FOR A LONG TIME

Following one of the best matches of his career at WrestleMania 28, there has been a lot of speculation about what The Undertaker will do with WWE in the future. Not only does it appear as if another match is in his future, but several could be waiting.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Undertaker really going to push his body that much longer?

Our Take: The matches, particularly the style, will have to change as he creeps closer to 50, but since he only has to work one day every year, there is no reason to think he can't keep things going for a few more years.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 WrestleMania Streaks

Give Undertaker credit: He has worked out the sweetest deal in the world. He gets to return for one match every year, collect a big paycheck, then go home to do whatever he wants for the remaining 364 days. Just one of the perks of being a huge WWE star for so many years.

BROCK LESNAR AND JOHN CENA WRESTLING A STRAIGHT MATCH

With a name like Extreme Rules, you would think the Brock Lesnar and John Cena match would have some kind of stipulation. If that's what you were hoping for, you are not on the same page as the WWE creative team. Instead, the two are expected to have a singles match.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is that the right call?

Our Take: In most cases, the first match in a feud should be a singles match. With these two stars, it doesn't make sense. Lesnar, in particular, could have used a gimmick match to start off with so he could get his feet wet in the ring, while hiding his ring rust and limitations.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Non-Gimmick Matches

Given the intense rivalry that these two have built, albeit over a short two-week period, you would think that some kind of hardcore match would be a natural fit for these two. We shall see what WWE does with it, but right now it doesn't look smart.

MICK FOLEY WANTS ONE MORE MATCH

With the Dean Ambrose storyline picking up steam, it would appear that Mick Foley's dream of having one more match with one more big bump in WWE will come true.

"

I believe I do have one more big bump left in me @ByMikeMooneyham - delivered on my terms, with a @WWE Superstar who respects what I've done

— Mick Foley (@realMickFoley) April 5, 2012"

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will this really be Foley's final match?

Our Take: In wrestling, you never say never. But with Foley, given his limitations and age, there should be one final sendoff for the hardcore legend. It won't be as big as what we saw for Ric Flair or Shawn Michaels, but it should be something.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Hardcore Legends

In his day, Foley was one of the most unique characters in all of wrestling. It is hard to get one character over, let alone three, yet he somehow managed to do it. Even if his final match is used to get a new WWE worker over, so be it.

JOHN MORRISON RETURNING TO WWE?

When Morrison walked away from WWE, there was some thinking that he might turn up in TNA. Instead, he has been relaxing, doing indy shows and, possibly, recharging his batteries for a WWE comeback. At least there were hints of it in his interview with Power Slam magazine.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will WWE use Morrison better if he comes back?

Our Take: Morrison says that he left on good terms, and has been careful not to say anything about anyone behind the scenes, so as long as he doesn't turn into a blowhard, he could be given a good push if/when he does return.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Parkour Wall Climbs

Morrison is a perfect example of a wasted talent in WWE. He may not have been the sharpest worker or the best talker, but he at least had something. WWE never really let him show it off on a consistent basis, which is why he never advanced further than he did.
