WWE News: Dean Ambrose Angry Tweets at Mick Foley Won't Sit Well with Fans
Dean Ambrose is barking up the wrong tree by publicly taking on Mick Foley.
Ambrose is a developmental prospect that most wouldn't know, unless you're a hardcore wrestling fan.
Meanwhile, Mick Foley is a legend. His Mankind and Cactus Jack gimmicks are more than recognizable, even for the casual fan.
Therefore, it was clear from Ambrose's recent Twitter rant—after he was sent home from Smackdown—that some maturation is in order.
He initially approached Foley at WrestleMania 28. That altercation is shown here:
The Twitter love came after he was sent home from Smackdown. Ambrose's rant went on for about 10 tweets.
Here are a few of the "highlights":
(Disclaimer: adult language)
"ok,so I get sent home from tvs? cuz MICK feels uncomfortable? like I did something wrong? like I'M a criminal? #hardcorelegend=softcorebitch

"#wwe likes to pretend Mick Foley never existed. Wwe is still apologizing for him by sterilizing the product. #raw
— Dean Ambrose (@TheDeanAmbrose) April 9, 2012"
"Btw..I have zero fear of reprisals from the office for wat ive said about mick foley cuz nobody high up in #wwe has any respect for him
"

Wow—that was pretty heavy duty stuff. Even if Ambrose is correct about the higher-ups feelings about Foley, speaking for them is a bad idea.
From a business standpoint, it would make more sense for the WWE powers to back Foley than Ambrose. By bringing their names and presence into it, he could be forcing their hand in a situation they would normally allow to blow over.
Foley is beloved by scores of fans, and he's older. Tweets like this one convey the way Ambrose comes across to fans by taking this aggressive posture with Foley:
"Thanks @Ryanster1985: "what a bum u really r. U must be desperate for cash to call an old man out. Waster, bum, punk sums u up just nicely"
"

This is a feud he can't win, and would best served to back off. What he did after Smackdown was really just a juvenile Twitter tantrum that made him look foolish and Foley look innocent.
Sometimes you have to know when to "know your role, and shut your mouth."
