Brock Lesnar: John Laurinaitis Alliance Proves WWE Has Massive Plans for Lesnar
Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE to much fanfare a couple weeks ago and carried that momentum into his brawl with John Cena last night on Raw. More importantly, by aligning him with John Laurinaitis, it proves the company has huge plans in mind for the former UFC star.
Laurinaitis gained control of both brands at WrestleMania when his Team Johnny defeated Team Teddy, led by former Smackdown general manager Teddy Long. Lesnar will use that power to become a dominant force sooner rather than later.
He's never been great with promos, like Cena's previous storyline for The Rock, so his rise will be characterized by less talking and more fighting. Raw was a perfect example of that with a melee that left blood pouring from Cena's mouth and caused the locker room to clear.

The WWE hasn't seen an old-fashioned battle like that in a long time, so it's no surprise wrestling fans are still talking about it today. Lesnar has already regained fan-favorite status despite teaming up with Laurinaitis.
That's the most underrated part about Cena's character. No matter what role a superstar is going to play, pitting them against the company's most polarizing star will generate a positive reaction from the older audience members.
So, Lesnar can develop his character while still getting massive pops every time his music hits. That makes it basically impossible for him to fail even though he just returned.
To me, that points to Lesnar putting together one of the most commanding years in history leading up to next year's WrestleMania. It wouldn't surprise me if he holds both of the major titles heading into the marquee event.
After all, a reason has to emerge for giving Laurinaitis complete authority. Having Lesnar destroy his competition and taking control of both titles would be the biggest push in a long time, and would set him up to main event the year's biggest show.
At that point, The Rock might be ready to return again. He said before leaving to shoot more movies that he wanted to become WWE Champion again someday. Facing off with double-champion Lesnar might even eclipse Rocky's match against Cena nine days ago.
The other option wouldn't involve the titles, but rather the Undertaker. Imagine Lesnar clearing house for a full year and then attempting to end the undefeated streak at WrestleMania? That would be a show-stealing match if there ever was one.
Either way, major plans are taking shape. Vince McMahon wasn't afraid to throw him right back into the spotlight after eight years away and the decision has paid immediate dividends.
All the WWE universe can do now is sit back and enjoy the ride.
