Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The news about Gabbert was interesting. While his toe issue is certainly a 'reason why' he had terrible numbers, it doesn't change his terrible numbers. Toe injuries are serious and quite painful, but it doesn't change the fact that Gabbert has got to show massive improvement in Year 2 to be taken seriously. Maybe it changes the odds that he will, but it doesn't alter what needs to happen.
As for the shortened offseason, nice try, but all rookie quarterbacks went through the same thing, and he was by far the worst. Andy Dalton and Cam Newton looked pretty solid without a normal offseason, so I'm not giving Gabbert any free pass on that account. The Jags didn't run a complicated offense, so that doesn't get him any extra credit.
Q:
A: Matt is referring to my Ultimate Titans mock draft. I've seen Mark Barron, a safety out of Alabama rated among the top ten in the draft all the way down to the late 20s. Most mocks have Barron as gone by the time the Titans get around to picking. With the character issues he has had, I'm not sure the Titans want to take that on. They haven't fared well with the 'character issue' guys recently.
Ultimately, however, Barron is such a talent that if he falls to the Titans, I think they'd think long and hard before passing on him. A top ten talent at pick 20 is hard to turn down.

A: Grigson has been in office just over three months and has already swung two trades. I would be shocked if he didn't make more moves come draft day. The Colts have needs at every position, but if Grigson has a chance to nab the right player who could be a difference maker for a long time, I bet he'll do it. I would be shocked to see him give up any 2013 picks to do so, though.
The one move Colts fans really want to see is a possible move back up into the first round to secure Coby Fleener. My guess is that that's the one move that would really energize the fanbase.
