USC Football Recruiting: A Look at Top WRs to Pair with Max Browne
By now, I'm sure you've heard the news that the nation's top quarterback prospect, Max Browne, has decided to take his talents to USC. Browne will suit up as a Trojan next season and compete for the starting quarterback job, likely as a true freshman.
However, even with a great quarterback leading the offense, every great needs a solid wide receiver to throw the ball to. USC is loaded at the wide receiver position already, but just how many will still be on the team when Matt Barkley heads to the NFL?
This year's recruiting class has its fair share of wide receivers that USC could go after. Here are a few that would fit nicely with their new 5-star recruit.
Devon Allen
1 of 5Allen is a receiver with good size at 6'1" and 190 pounds. He is really making a name for himself in Phoenix, AZ.
Allen runs terrific routes, has a great pair of hands and has very underrated speed for somebody his size. He's a complete receiver who has no problem doing the dirty work and picking up a block or two as well.
He's looking at schools like Michigan and Notre Dame right now, but you figure USC will make a run if they can't get some of the guys ahead.
Laquon Treadwell
2 of 5Laquon Treadwell is a physical receiver at 6'3" and 190 pounds. He is also great at picking up a chunk of yards after the catch.
Treadwell is one of the receivers on this list that already has an offer from USC on the table, but he has shown great interest in Michigan and Notre Dame early on.
He's from the midwest in Illinois, so if the Trojans really want him, they'll have to make a strong push considering he already has offers from Nebraska, Ohio State and Iowa as well.
Darrell Daniels
3 of 5Daniels is that physical receiver with a ton of upside that could develop quickly into one of the better receivers in college football. He has fantastic size at 6'3", 210 pounds and simply overpowers defenses and whoever is covering him. He's also a solid blocker and despite his bigger frame, he is great at running after the catch.
Daniels is from Oakley, CA, and is also looking at schools like Stanford, UCLA and Michigan, among others.
Sebastian LaRue
4 of 5USC has yet to extend an offer to this young man, but he is one of the top wide receivers in this year's class. What's more, he is from Santa Monica, CA.
LaRue runs solid routes, but is most known for his speed and game-changing ability. When he gets in the open field, there's a great chance he's gone. With his explosive ability, he could also be a factor in the return game for the Trojans.
Although LaRue is from California, he says location isn't a factor; he just wants to play for a school that fits him best.
“I want to play early and that will be a factor. I’m also looking for a great campus life and a coaching staff that can relate well to the players. Location doesn’t matter to me, I’ll go wherever and have no problem leaving home if I need to.”
Robert Foster
5 of 5Robert Foster is considered by many top recruiting sites to be the best offensive player in this entire class. Nearly every school will make a case for him. He has great size at 6'2", 190 pounds, tremendous speed and is a threat to take it the distance every time he touches the football.
He's a playmaker, and the Trojans would be foolish not to extend an offer to the young man.
He's from Monaca, PA, and is looking at schools such as Penn State and Michigan, but it's only a matter of time before USC gets in the mix.
