Miami Marlins Fans: Are You Rocking the New Team License Plate on Your Car?
The baseball spotlight shines on the Miami Marlins Wednesday night, as the 2012 season opens with the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals visiting brand new Marlins Park.
New ballpark, new uniforms, new manager, new players... and kind of a new name. There may be no more exciting time to be a Marlins fan.
(I say "more exciting," rather than "better" because 1997 was probably a good time to root for the Fish.)

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The state of Florida is clearly getting caught up in Marlins fever, too, as they now allow residents to let their Marlins flag fly. Well, figuratively speaking. It's not a flag, and it won't fly, but this will allow the people of the Sunshine State to make their vehicles into a declaration of fandom.
Ladies and gentlemen, baseball fans: Check out the official state Marlins license plate.
Now available from a stand at Marlins Park (actually, they've been available since Monday): Get your team cap! Get your team pennant! Get your Marlins car tags!
As reported by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Juan C. Rodriguez, the $25 fee for the special license plates will benefit the Marlins Community Foundation, local youth charities and sporting events throughout the state of Florida.
So with the baseball world centered in Miami Wednesday night, how many of these babies will be seen on cars parked around Marlins Park? And if you're a Marlins fan (there are some of you out there), have you gotten one for your ride yet?
If you attend Wednesday's opener between the Marlins and Cardinals and either see one of these plates on a car or purchase one for yourself, I'd love to see (and hear about) it. Please send a photo to icasselberry@bleacherreport.com, along with your anecdotes.
Maybe in the comments, you can post funny ideas for what could go with the "M" on the license plate. Just keep it clean. And funny. Don't forget to be funny.
