WWE WrestleMania 28: John Cena's Bad Luck Is Good for WWE
WWE fans have become so accustomed to seeing John Cena standing tall over everyone else that it has become big news when he loses one match. Therefore, when he gets laid out for the second night in a row, you start to think there is something rotten in Denmark.
On the flip side, this is a major shift for the WWE, and one that will have positive ramifications far down the line.
Cena could not keep going at the pace that the WWE had set for him. Whenever a pay-per-view or Raw was over, it was always Cena with his hand raised in victory. No one else had a chance because there was such paranoia backstage about having him look weak.

That scenario has led to a lot of the roster problems that the WWE has right now. By never making anyone appear to be Cena's equal, no one else has been able to approach his level of popularity with the company.
All of that changed at WrestleMania with Cena's loss to The Rock. It wasn't a surprise to see Cena lose on that night, simply because Rock was the returning hero in his first singles match in nine years.
However, things escalated on Monday night, after Cena called out The Rock but instead got an F-5 from Brock Lesnar.
No longer is Cena being viewed as this indestructible force that is going to plow over anyone the WWE throws at him.
Granted, it is still very early in the feud and Cena has not been doing jobs for full-time WWE employees, but it does provide some hope that his character is on the road to redemption.
WWE had to take drastic measures to make Cena human. In the past, that was an idea that made Vince McMahon cringe. He needed to figure out a way to make him Superman, which turned a lot of viewers off.
It now appears as if the company isn't completely afraid of letting him fail as a way to build him back up. It can feel very natural and real, where in order to make it back to the top, you must first fail.
Cena's small string of bad luck is good for him, the fans and the WWE. It won't last long, but it is a positive step for the creative team to take.
