Wrestlemania 28: Most Shocking Moments from Controversial WWE PPV
If there was one thing WrestleMania 28 delivered, it was shocking moment after shocking moment.
From the very start of the pay-per-view, WWE made sure the fans were in for an emotional roller coaster ride.
It all started when Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Championship in a jaw-dropping 18 seconds.

Was it a terrible decision by WWE? Absolutely.
In no way should Wrestlefreakin'Mania open up with a squash match. We came to see the best performers in the world tear down the house and WWE took that opportunity away from us from the beginning. With eight matches on the card in a four hour span, by no means should the World Heavyweight Championship have been relegated to 18 seconds.
This is a pay-per-view that has a history of great opening matches, none better than Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart at WrestleMania X. Widely regarded as one of the better 'Mania's in history, it's because the Hart Bros. tore it up in Madison Square Garden.
Look back at other events like SummerSlam 2002 when Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio had Long Island on the edge of their seats at Nassau Coliseum. The opening match is every bit as important as the main event, as it sets the tone for the show.
Good job WWE, you forced us to lose our smile from the start of the show!
Everybody wanted to discredit Randy Orton and Kane heading into the event, but they actually had one of the best finishes of the entire PPV!
Nobody saw Kane Chokeslamming Orton from the turnbuckle coming at all. It was an exciting and unpredictable finish. After the wash that was Sheamus vs. Bryan, we needed a spot like that to get our juices flowing again.
Say what you want about Orton and Kane, but they did a solid job getting the fans back into the extravaganza.
As much as I want to put Big Show beating Cody Rhodes on the list, we can save that for another time. We have greatness to talk about.
For the third time at WrestleMania, Triple H and The Undertaker put on a classic performance. While their match at WrestleMania XVII is still my personal favorite, the best spot the two have ever shared came last night during Hell in a Cell.
I've never been more worried about the Streak being over than when Shawn Michaels gave Undertaker the Sweet Chin Music and Triple H immediately turned it into the Pedigree. It was arguably the best spot of the night and was done to absolute perfection. That was the epic storytelling we expected to see from these three legends.
This spot was simply phenomenal. I bashed the Heartbreak Kid's inclusion in this match, but that one spot made up for all that bad he interjected throughout WrestleMania 28.
Chris Jericho and CM Punk may have actually had the real match of the night. That's up for serious discussion, which is great for the fans as all three main event matches delivered. Their match was full of awesome spots, mostly thanks to Jericho.
Y2J was able to complete an inverted suplex to the outside mats, he reversed a hurricanrana into the Walls of Jericho and reversed Punk's high-flying attempt into the Codebreaker in mid-air. Exceptional! All of these moments lead up to the real shocker of the match, which was Jericho actually tapping out to Punk's Anaconda Vice after reversal after reversal.
This was arguably the most shocking moment of the night. Jericho has officially completed the single worst return ever in professional wrestling. He did absolutely nothing since returning on January 2nd. He lost at the Royal Rumble, was knocked out of the Elimination Chamber and was now forced to tap out to Punk at WrestleMania.
What a waste!
We could easily put The Rock defeating John Cena on the list, but considering we were all split down the middle leading up to the match, we'll have to pass. The best spot of this match wasn't when Cena attempted the People's Elbow, but when he reversed The Rock's out-of-character flying cross body into the Attitude Adjustment.
This moment is fighting for moment of the night in my eyes. Cena put on an epic display of strength as he caught The Rock, rolled over and then lifted him off the ground from his knees before hoisting him onto his shoulders.
It didn't matter that Cena was being destroyed by the crowd all night, they knew they just witnessed something awesome and gave him his proper credit. The crowd was amazed, I was amazed and you were amazed. It was an epic spot to conclude a wild pay-per-view.
