WrestleMania 28 Results: Power Ranking the Performances of Each Wrestler
WrestleMania 28 has come and gone. It was filled with exciting moments and will go down as one of the greatest WrestleManias of all time.
The hype for this event was through the roof and it included historical performances from some of the wrestlers.
Here is a look at a power ranking of each wrestler, based on their performance.
14. Daniel Bryan
1 of 14There should be no surprise here. Daniel Bryan lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Sheamus in 18 seconds.
This match was a slap in the face to Bryan and obviously puts him last on the power rankings.
13. Sheamus
2 of 14Sheamus won the World Heavyweight Championship in 18 seconds. It didn't take much to win it and his match was easily the worst of the night. However, he did win the Heavyweight Championship, so that means something.
His performance was clearly nothing special, which hurts his ranking.
12. Team Teddy
3 of 14This 12-man tag team match was cluttered and I thought it would be easier to rank the team as a whole instead of each individual wrestler.
That being said, Team Teddy failed to get a win and left the power of both Raw and SmackDown in the hands of John Laurinaitis.
The team had some highlights, including Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder and R-Truth flipping over the top ropes to the outside of the ring and Ryder almost winning the match for Team Teddy.
Other than that, Team Teddy failed to make a serious impact at WrestleMania.
11. Team Johnny
4 of 14The most significant thing that came out of the 12-man tag match is that John Laurinaitis now has control of both Raw and SmackDown.
No wrestler on Team Johnny had an overly impressive performance. Miz did pick up the victory for Team Johnny, though, which could lead to some interesting storylines for him.
10. Cody Rhodes
5 of 14Cody Rhodes has helped make the Intercontinental Championship relevant again and has become a top heel in the company. His performance in his match against the Big Show was unimpressive and he was unable to get into a groove.
Rhodes was dominated by Big Show and he could take a serious hit from this match if this doesn't lead to bigger things.
9. Randy Orton
6 of 14Randy Orton lost a hard-fought battle with Kane. The match was more exciting than expected and Orton delivered some memorable moments.
Unfortunately, Orton was unable to hit Kane with an RKO and was Choke Slammed twice. One of them came from the second rope and ultimately ended Orton.
The fact that he did kick out after one Choke Slam was impressive and the excitement of the match does help Orton in the rankings.
8. Big Show
7 of 14Cody Rhodes made the Big Show's struggles at WrestleMania well known and he finally had a WrestleMania moment.
The Big Show ended Rhodes' long Intercontinental Championship reign and won the title for the first time in his long career.
While it was no surprise that Big Show moved slowly in the match, his dominance and emotion at the end of the match was memorable.
7. Kane
8 of 14Kane was impressive at WrestleMania and proved that he still is a dominating monster.
This win was important for Kane because a loss would have buried his character. He was just coming off losing a feud with John Cena.
Kane showed he still has some left in the tank and could still put on exciting matches. It will be interesting to see who he turns his attention to next.
6. Chris Jericho
9 of 14Chris Jericho's main angle in this match was to play mind games with CM Punk. The two put on a wrestling clinic that was filled with reversals and submissions.
Jericho was unable to defeat Punk, but still put on a great performance at WrestleMania. He proved he still can keep up with anyone in the ring.
5. Triple H
10 of 14Triple H succeeded in putting on another historic WrestleMania match, but failed to end Undertaker's streak.
For a significant part of the match, Triple H dominated Undertaker and it looked as if he was going to end Undertaker's streak and career.
What hurts his ranking is the fact that this was the third time Triple H failed to end Undertaker's streak.
4. CM Punk
11 of 14CM Punk and Chris Jericho were a lock to put on a quality WrestleMania match. Punk basically displayed his entire wrestling arsenal and was able to retain the WWE Championship.
Punk showed his incredible wrestling ability with impressive reversals and submissions.
This match was career defining for Punk and his performance did not disappoint.
3. John Cena
12 of 14John Cena is often criticized for his lack of in-ring ability. He silenced critics, at least for one night, with his performance at WrestleMania.
Cena put on the greatest performance of his career in the biggest match of his career. He handled the Rock's ring rust well and displayed some exciting moves.
Even though Cena lost, his incredible performance at WrestleMania 28 should not go unrecognized.
2. The Rock
13 of 14The Rock pulled out a victory in a match that was hyped to be the greatest of all time. The match did live up to that hype.
The Rock had some rust in the ring but worked through it. He showed that after nine years without competing in a singles match, he could still electrify the WWE.
The Rock and Cena had equally impressive performances, but what gives him the edge is the victory.
1. The Undertaker
14 of 14Undertaker extended his WrestleMania streak to 20-0. He once again took a brutal beating but still managed to come out on top.
Undertaker was somehow able to continue after endless shots with the chair. He also kicked out after Shawn Michaels hit him with a super kick and Triple H hit him with a pedigree. Undertaker ended the match and an era with an epic Tombstone.
