NFL Draft 2012: Complete First-Round Mock Draft
Colts
1) Andrew Luck (QB, Stanford)
The Colts decided to let Peyton Manning go in order to make room for Luck. Not picking him with this pick would be one of the greatest draft day shocks of all time.
Redskins
2) Robert Griffin III (QB, Baylor)

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The second biggest draft day shock would occur if the Redskins, who traded many picks for the chance to grab RGIII, end up not drafting him.
Vikings
3) Matt Kalil (OT, USC)
The Vikings have a young quarterback to develop and an elite running back. Finding a dominant left tackle has to be a top priority, especially with the health of Adrian Peterson in question.
Browns
4) Trent Richardson (RB, Alabama)
No player in the draft has the ability to improve the Browns the way Richardson has the ability to do. The Browns have many needs and offense is No. 1 priority. With Peyton Hillis leaving, Richardson is just what the doctor ordered for the Browns.
Buccaneers
5) Morris Claiborne (CB, LSU)
After missing out on Richardson, the Buccaneers will take the best player available at a position of need. Claiborne is one of the highest rated corner back and years and will be a staple in the secondary for the defensive minded-Bucs for years to come.
Rams
6) Justin Blackmon (WR, Oklahoma State)
After deciding to stick with Sam Bradford over RGIII, the Rams must find playmakers for him to evolve. Blackmon is the highest-rated receiver in the draft and barring another trade, he is likely to be teamed up with Bradford.
Jaguars
7) Quinton Coples (DE, North Carolina)
The best defensive lineman available is available and that is great news for the Jaguars. They selected a highly touted Big 12 quarterback last season and will focus on improving the defense and hope Gabbert and Jones-Drew develop as planned.
A WR is needed, but with Blackmon gone, it is too high to reach for one of the other WR with so many needs.
Dolphins
8) Ryan Tannehill (QB, Texas A&M)
The Miami Dolphins appear to have missed out on the great QB exchange of this offseason. That does not mean all is for loss. Ryan Tannehill has sky rocketed up draft boards and is ready to be an top-10 pick. This is very similar to what happened last season with Blaine Gabbert.
Panthers
9) Kendall Wright (WR, Baylor)
After an amazing rookie season, Cam Newton is ready to take the next step. Building a team around the speed and explosiveness of Newton will be exciting for NFL fans to watch. Combine Newton, Steve Smith and Kendall Wright and you have a dynamic offense to build around.
Bills
10) Riley Reiff (OT, Iowa)
The Bills need help on offense but before the front office knows what it has in their quarterback, the offense line needs to be stable. In Buffalo, a dominant line is what brought this team to consecutive Super Bowls in the 90s, and a return to form is needed. Reiff is a great left tackle and the Bills will be ecstatic to grab him at No. 10.
Chiefs
11) Luke Kuechly (ILB, Boston College)
Another player who turned heads in the combine, Kuechly is a perfect match for the Chiefs. The Chiefs may be ready to take the next step and compete with Manning and the Broncos for AFC West supremacy.
Seahawks
12) Melvin Ingram (DE, South Carolina)
Pete Carroll knows how to score points, stopping the other team has always been an issue. After winning the Matt Flynn lottery, the defense must be addressed. Ingram is a monster on the end and will help the Seahawks right away.
Cardinals
13) Michael Brockers (DT, LSU)
Defense seems to always be a priority in Arizona, and a dominant Brockers shores up the middle of the defensive line. This will allow the defense to take more risks and play with the energy from years past.
Cowboys
14) Mark Barron (S, Alabama)
Teams have been throwing past the Cowboys for years and Jerry Jones knows that must stop in order to return to championship form. Barron is a hard-hitting, ball-hawing safety the Cowboys covet. I'd be very surprised if he is not in a Cowboys uniform next season.
Eagles
15) Cordy Glenn (OT, Georgia)
Jason Peters' injury may have changed the Eagles draft plans. In order to stay at the top of their game, the offensive line must be solid. Cordy Glenn is not Jason Peters, but a starting tackle right out of college that is much needed for the Eagles.
Jets
16) Michael Floyd (WR, Notre Dame)
The Jets love adding playmakers, and feel their defense is able to stop anyone. This makes for Floyd to be an excellent selection.
Bengals
17) David DeCastro (OG, Stanford)
The Cincinnati Bengals surprised most last season. The excellent play from rookies A.J. Green and Andy Dalton make a formidable offensive threat and protection of these players is key. DeCastro is a solid starting guard and solidifies either side of the center. Another option is center Peter Konz from Wisconsin.
Chargers
18) Jonathan Martin (OT, Stanford)
The same for what was said about the Bengals is similar for the Chargers. The team is certainly talented and making the offensive line solid is key to maintaining the success.
Bears
19) Mike Adams (OT, Ohio State)
Jay Cutler, Devon Hester, Brandon Marshall and a frightening defense should get you into the playoffs. However, Jay Cutler always seems to be on his back not able to get the ball to his play makers. Adding Mike Adams is a necessity.
Titans
20) Dontari Poe (DT, Memphis)
A hometown guy with huge potential. The Titans thrived with Albert Haynesworth anchoring the defense, and now can land Poe to do the same.
Bengals
21) Courtney Upshaw (DE, Alabama)
With the second pick in the first round the Bengals will try to add a defensive lineman to pressure the passer and stop the run against the tough AFC North. Upshaw is a highly touted player from a championship team. Experience and skill on the defensive side is a huge plus for the Bengals.
Browns
22) Nick Perry (DE, USC)
An outside linebacker/defensive end could be the missing piece for the Browns defense. Although they ranked in the top three in pass defense, they ranked in the bottom three in rush defense. Nick Perry recorded 12 sacks last season, and is a playmaker on the defensive side that is missing on the Browns roster.
Lions
23) Dont'a Hightower (ILB, Alabama)
The offense needs little work, perhaps a reliable running back but when you throw the ball as much as they do, why bother in the first round? The defensive is improving, and the Lions front office knows to beat the Packers, the defensive must continue to improve.
Hightower is a tough inside linebacker to play behind Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairly.
Steelers
24) Janoris Jenkins (CB, North Alabama)
The Steelers always seem to be regressing, but also always seem to end up with 10 wins and in the playoffs. The secondary hindered any real chance of them playing in the Super Bowl and Jenkins could be the most underrated cornerback to come out in years. If he is off the board, look for the Steelers to shore up the offensive line.
Broncos
25) Stephen Hill (WR, Georgia Tech)
Peyton Manning's arrival changes everything in Denver: no more Tebow drama and a pro-style offense is back under Manning. Adding a talented WR to pair with Manning is a wise decision, as the two will work together for the next five seasons.
Texans
26) Whitney Mercilus (DE, Illinois)
The loss of Mario Williams will not go unnoticed. That is why with the 26th overall pick the Texans must try to fill that void. Mercilius is a solid player who will be able to step right in and play the position left open by the former number one overall pick.
Patriots
27) Dre Kirkpatrick (CB, Alabama)
Again, a great team and again, two first round picks. The Patriots will look to add talent on both sides of the ball by drafting the best available player. Dre Kirkpatrick is a steal at 27, and should start right away for the Pats.
Packers
28) Stephon Gilmore (CB, South Carolina)
The Packers learned the hard way that any team capable throwing accurately, and often can surprise them and win in the playoffs. The Packers need little help besides the secondary and almost certainly will address that issue in the draft.
Ravens
29) Lavonte David (OLB, Nebraska)
With an aging defense and a quality offense, the Ravens will look to add a linebacker to be mentored under the current regime. David is a solid linebacker who tackles well. Something the Ravens value highly.
49ers
30) Fletcher Cox (DT, Mississippi State)
A stellar defense does not mean perfect and they may look to add a player of Cox ability to the middle of that defense. The additions of Randy Moss and Mario Manningham make it unlikely they will draft a WR.
Patriots
31) Alshon Jeffery (WR, South Carolina)
The Patriots will look to add a playmaker on offense. With the 49ers signing wide receivers in free agency, Alshon Jeffery's will likely be available to them at 31.
Giants
32) Kevin Zeitler (OG, Wisconsin)
Hard to say what this team needs. They always seem to find a way to get it done. Adding depth may be the biggest need for this team, and offensive lineman are key in maintaining success under Coughlin and Eli Manning.
