Tim Tebow Trade: Why Broncos Made Out Well, While Jets Are Losers in Move
Now that the Tim Tebow trade, debacle, fiasco or any other way you wish to look at it has finally been finalized, it's time to really look at the deal.
Who won? Who lost? What happens now? Do Sanchez and Tebow co-exist?
These questions and more in the next episode of your daily New York soap opera. Things in New York are hot right now and people are wearing their "gang green" Tebow jerseys with pride. But when the dust settles, who really won with this trade?
It Gets Rid of a Possible Ego Problem
1 of 6The NFL and its teams are big enough for two good quarterbacks on a squad, but egos may get bruised.
Manning and Tebow could not coexist. And honestly, it is more about Manning's ego than anything else.
He has never been challenged before by another passer, and there was tension in discussions concerning Andrew Luck.
Let's just say a major media crisis was averted.
Manning Does Not Have to Worry about Tebow Mania
2 of 6Now it can be "Manning Mania" in Denver.
Can you image the backup quarterback being more popular than Peyton Manning?
And, what happens if Manning gets hurt? Tebow comes in, plays like a "quarterback" and wins? Can you then bench him again?
The entire hype is gone now that Tebow is on the east coast.
Another Florida Gator Bites the Dust
3 of 6Manning could never beat Florida in college and lost the Heisman to Danny Wuerfel.
Maybe this exacts a little bit of redemption for the former Tennessee Volunteer.
Now, if he could only get back at Steve Spurrier.
Manning Wins Super Bowls, Tebow Wins Playoff Games
4 of 6That's the bottom line in this case.
The NFL is not a league of "What have you done for me lately?" rather it is a case of "What can you do for me now, and in the future?"
Manning can win a Super Bowl and has already. Tebow has won one playoff game.
Makes John Elway Happy
5 of 6Elway gets his man.
He said all the right things about Tebow and when they were winning, he could not change the course of action. But the team really needs a genuine passing game. Manning gives them that.
Elway and head coach John Fox could not win a Super Bowl or be consistent with Tebow behind center.
Will Bring More Free Agents to Denver
6 of 6Manning's stop in Denver means he thinks he can win a title in Mile High.
But the Broncos need to give him more tools to work with. Knowshown Moreno and Willis McGahee are nice runners to have and Demaryius Thomas is a nice receiver to hook up with on a deep route. But the Broncos could use more weapons.
How about Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley? They would greatly improve the offense and make Denver more explosive.
The pieces are there, but they need to be enhanced.
