3 Reasons Why Tim Tebow May Have Chosen Jets over Jaguars
Why would Tim Tebow pick the New York Jets over his hometown Jacksonville Jaguars?
Well, did he really have a choice?
According to this tweet sent out on Wednesday by Adam Schefter, he most certainly did.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Let's get right into it. These are the three reasons why Tim Tebow picked the Jets over the Jags.
The Mega Media Market of New York City
Professional athletes want to play in big media markets with all eyes on them.
We saw it in 1996 when Shaquille O'Neal went to Los Angeles from Orlando. LeBron James picked Miami over Cleveland in 2010. Countless NFL players have done it over the years.
I'm not saying Tebow's an ego maniac, but he undoubtedly will be featured more prominently on a national stage in the Big Apple than he would have in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Jets will likely play in prime time on more than one occasion next season and are a prime candidate for HBO's Hard Knocks documentary this summer.
Remember, this is all a business, people.
His brand grows immensely with the Jets, if that's even possible at this point.
The Better Offense
A lot of people said he picked the Jets because they're the better team. Let's make one thing clear: The Jets aren't that much better than the Jaguars. Yes, New York won three more games than Jacksonville did in 2011, but the Jaguars' defense was better in a handful of major categories and Maurice Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing.
However, in terms of offensive weapons, it's not close.
Though they bickered with Mark Sanchez last season, Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress are much more skilled and experienced than any wideouts currently on the Jaguars' roster.
Outside of maybe Wayne Hunter, the Jets' offensive line is much more intact, with Nick Mangold and D'Brickashaw Ferguson the dominant anchors.
In the end, Tebow may have seen what Blaine Gabbert went through last year with the likes of Mike Thomas, Jarett Dillard and Chastin West running routes and decided to head to the Jets.
Being More Than a Ticket-Selling Gimmick
Yes, the allure of returning "home" may have been great, but it was blatantly obvious that Tebow was being brought to the Jaguars as a marketing ploy, a major ticket-selling gimmick.
Sure, he would have "competed" with Gabbert for a starting role and down the line could have been named the starter.
In New York, although in a diminished role, he knows the move was based on the actual game of football. (Some are disputing whether or not the Jets wanted increased notoriety with Tebow, though.)
He will be used in sub-packages as a Wildcat quarterback and possibly has a good chance to become the starter if Sanchez struggles.
Actually, I may have picked New York, too.
