Instead of Trading Tim Tebow, Broncos Should Let Peyton Manning Mentor QB
If you're the Denver Broncos, what's the harm in keeping Tim Tebow and letting Peyton Manning, arguably the greatest quarterback and most brilliant football mind of all time, mentor him?
Am I missing something?
Precisely when I started to believe I was, I turned to finances.

That had to be it.
Nope.
Tim Tebow's base salary for 2012 is a measly $1.11 million. Additionally, he's due a $1.56 million bonus for a grand total cap hit of $2.67 million next season.
That's not a ridiculous amount to pay a backup quarterback.
Since the Manning-to-Broncos news broke on Monday, I've heard ESPN's Adam Schefter say countless times on SportsCenter that the Green Bay Packers would be a great fit because Aaron Rodgers is the unquestioned starter and Tebow could learn from him.
Hello?
What about Peyton Manning? He's not too bad himself. Moreover, would any Broncos fan in his or her right mind call for Tebow over Manning, even if No. 18 hit a rough stretch? No way. No distraction.
Actually, there's no signal-caller I'd rather have a youthful quarterback learn the nuances of the game from than Mr. Manning, a player renowned for his attention to detail and diligent game preparation.
Other teams listed as possible destinations are Jacksonville and Miami. Can't we all agree that Tebow isn't starter material and needs time to develop? He'd have the best chance to grow into a competent quarterback under Manning's tutelage, not Blaine Gabbert's, Matt Moore's or David Garrard's.
It seems like John Elway simply cannot deal with a non-traditional quarterback on his roster. That's got to be it.
Stupid.
For as great of a move as it was landing Peyton Manning, Elway's being just as foolish trading Tim Tebow.
Heck, by the time this article gets a few hundred reads, Tebow probably will be on another team.
