New York Jets Rumors: BenJarvus Green-Ellis Targeted by Former Division Foe
The New York Jets may be poaching a New England Patriot.
Brian Costello of The New York Post is reporting that the Jets are in preliminary talks with free-agent running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis:
"The Jets have expressed interest in Patriots free agent running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, according to a source. The interest is preliminary at the moment and nothing is imminent. The two sides have yet to schedule a meeting.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The big fun fact with the 26-year-old is that he has never fumbled the ball once in his 510 career rushing attempts. As a part-time back for the majority of his career, Green-Ellis has rushed for 2,064 yards and 29 touchdowns while averaging four yards per carry in four seasons.
He may not be able to handle 20 to 25 carries per game, but Green-Ellis would be ideal for a part-time role where he gets 10 to 15 touches. He set a career high with 159 receiving yards in 2011.
The Jets need a guy to back up starter Shonn Greene, as it seems free agent LaDanian Tomlinson would rather retire than come back to the Jets.
Green-Ellis has already visited the Cincinnati Bengals this week, but currently doesn’t have any other visits planned.
The free-agent running back market has been incredibly slow two weeks into free agency. In addition to Green-Ellis, Michael Bush, Cedric Benson, Brandon Jacobs and Justin Forsett are all unsigned and only a few have actually made visits to prospective teams.
Expect to hear about an official visit in the next day or so.
