Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: New York Jets Would Be Wise to Avoid Popular QB
The New York Jets should know just as well as anyone that Tim Tebow and the media circus that surrounds the Broncos QB just isn’t worth the distraction. It would be ludicrous for them to even explore the basic parameters of a trade with Denver.
Remember, this is the same team that helped get "Tebowmania" going in 2011, allowing him to score on a 20-yard run with less than a minute on the clock to cap off a 95-yard drive.
The Jets went on to lose to that game, 17-13.

They are also a franchise that needs to get away from the media right now to solidify their locker room.
There have been numerous reports during the offseason that the camaraderie and us-against-the-world attitude that Rex Ryan had instilled in his team had dissipated over the course of the 2011-12 campaign.
The Jets failed to make the AFC Championship, and even the playoffs, for the first time since the 2008-09 season, back when Eric Mangini was running the show. Their 8-8 record was their worst under Ryan and their miserable year came to a merciful end with three consecutive losses.
It would just be ridiculous to put more strain on Ryan and incumbent QB Mark Sanchez—who just signed a three-year, $40.5 million extension—by bringing in Tebow.
The Denver's lame duck QB would further splinter the team's locker room and even the fan base.
Remember, the Broncos were practically forced to start the former Florida Gator because of the unrelenting pressure from supporters and people inside the organization to give him a chance.
The Jets, at this juncture, aren’t ready to handle that type of divisive issue and Sanchez may play timid knowing that he could be yanked at any moment for Tebow.
Fortunately, ESPN's Rich Cimini's sources believe the chances of the Jets pursuing Tim are "a long shot at best."
This doesn’t mean that the No. 25 overall pick in 2010 isn’t going to be a solid signal caller in this league outside of Denver, it's just the Jets simply cannot afford to deal with his baggage right now.
