Peyton Manning Signing Makes Denver Broncos Super Bowl Contenders

Alex KayJun 4, 2018

The Denver Broncos have reportedly signed Peyton Manning, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

This marquee signing instantly makes the Broncos contenders and possibly favorites to win the Super Bowl in 2013.

Manning gave the green light to his agent to begin negotiating a contract with the Broncos, and all signs point to him relocating in the Mile High City to finish out his career.

If Tim Tebow's shaky mechanics, questionable decision-making and gimmick schemes can lead this group of young and talented players to the divisional round of the playoffs, Manning can easily take them further.

And the former Colts quarterback won't need fourth-quarter miracles to make it happen.

Manning is clearly a superior signal-caller compared to Tebow, and will make Denver’s offense one of the most feared in the league.

The Broncos have an emerging defense led by Defensive Rookie of the Year Von Miller, plus a number of key contributors on that side of the ball. They were able to put the rock in Tebow’s hands when they needed to and will have it easy with Peyton under center.

Denver also has the advantage of being located in the AFC West, one of the weaker divisions in the NFL and one whose crown was captured by an 8-8 Broncos team in 2011.

Manning will be able to coast through the regular season and not have to worry too much about risking further injury to his neck, perhaps the only thing that could stop the Broncos from making a deep playoff run.

This signing is a huge coup for John Elway and the rest of the organization, who spent the time recruiting the future Hall of Famer. With any luck, they will be rewarded with a Super Bowl before Manning hangs up his boots.
