Peyton Manning Rumors: Titans Would Be Foolish to Sign Hall of Fame QB
The Tennessee Titans shouldn't sign Peyton Manning because even with the legendary quarterback, the team would not be a legitimate Super Bowl contender from the AFC.
The Titans have considerable interest in Manning, and are even willing to promise him a role with the team when his playing days are over.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Titans owner Bud Adams is not in Wednesday’s meeting with Manning at team headquarters, but he’s made it clear he’ll do whatever it takes to land the quarterback. That includes a blank check financially, and a promise Manning could be part of the Tennessee Titans’ organization after his playing days are through.
Manning is not the type of guy who wants to be a media personality after he retires. He loves the game and might want a management role with a team.
"
Even though Manning knows the Titans and AFC South division well from his many years with the Indianapolis Colts, if he values winning, then Tennessee is not the best team for him.
The Titans finished 9-7 last season, one game behind division winners the Houston Texans. Even with Manning, the Titans are not a better team than the Texans. Houston has a much better defense, even with Mario Williams leaving for Buffalo, and both their running and passing games are superior to the Titans'.
With a healthy Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson, the Texans have one of the most talented offenses when you consider their running back duo of Arian Foster and Ben Tate is the best rushing tandem in football.
If they don't win the division, then the Titans will have to compete with AFC North teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals for a wild-card playoff spot. Don't count the New York Jets out as a playoff contender next season as well.
In addition to the Titans not being a lock to even make the playoffs with Manning, the team does not have enough receiving talent to best utilize Manning's talents if he's fully healthy.
Kenny Britt is the team's best wide receiver, but there's no guaranteeing he will return to his good form of last season following an ACL tear. After Britt, the talent at wide receiver is pretty weak on the Tennessee roster.
They also don't have a tight end anywhere close to the level of talent that Dallas Clark of the Colts has, who was one of Manning's most reliable targets in Indianapolis for several years.
Manning is going to get a huge contract regardless of which team signs him, which means winning must be priority No. 1 for him, especially at his age.
The Titans are not going to win the Super Bowl with Manning next season, which means they are better off looking elsewhere to upgrade at quarterback for the long term.
