Dwight Howard Reportedly Set to Stay with Orlando Magic Through Next Season
After months of speculation, Dwight Howard is reportedly staying with the Orlando Magic for the remainder of this season...and the 2012-13 campaign.
As first reporter by Christian Bruey of WFTV in Orlando, Howard told the team during a meeting in San Antonio on Wednesday that he plans on staying with the team through the 2012-13 season.
Howard is under contract through the end of next year but has the ability to opt out this summer.
UPDATE: Wednesday, 8:30 p.m. ET
Dwight Howard can't seem to make up his mind.
He spoke with team officials before Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs and told them he will not guarantee the team he will stay through the end of the 2012-13 season according to ESPN:
"RT @NBAonESPN: Dwight Howard tells Magic in pre-game call he will NOT surrender opt-out clause (via @ESPNSteinLine) - es.pn/xpG3ss

So Howard has changed his mind yet again and the odds of him getting traded are once again pretty high.
UPDATE: Wednesday, 7:45 p.m. ET
It looks like Howard is already having a change of heart. Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Howard is having second thoughts about his change of heart to stay:
"Several sources already believe he's second-guessing that incredible change of heart, and Magic still on phones talking trades with teams.

This story is far from over as the Dwight Howard soap opera rolls on...
Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick confirms the report that Howard will be staying:
"As first reported by WFTV in Orlando, sources confirm Dwight Howard told teammates & confidantes he will play final option year of contract
— Sam Amick (@sam_amick) March 14, 2012"
According to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski, Howard had some strong words for his teammates in today's meeting:
"Dwight Howard called a meeting of teammates in San Antonio today, told them he was "all in" for rest of season, source tells Y! Sports.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) March 14, 2012"
Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports that before the Magic take Howard for his word, they'll need it in writing:
"The #Magic would require written documentation that Howard will waive his early-termination option before deciding against trading him.
