Peyton will be paying a visit to the Kansas City Chiefs soon.
No, not that one. The other one. The running back.
You know, Peyton Hillis.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Yeah, him. Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain-Dealer reported on Tuesday that Hillis plans on visiting the Chiefs, and that he could sign in "the next day or two" if everything goes well.
If he has any brains, Hillis will sign with the Chiefs. He's not going to find a better fit for his talents, such as they are. He'd fit right in on the Chiefs.
I'm presuming that the Chiefs have no interest in Hillis as a No. 1 running back. Jamaal Charles will be their No. 1 runner once again as soon as he's recovered from his torn ACL. If the Chiefs were to sign Hillis, he'd be Charles' sidekick.
And what a sidekick he'd be. Charles' speed would make him the lightning, and Hillis' power would make him the thunder. The Chiefs would go back to being one of the top rushing teams in the league, as they were in 2010 when Charles and Thomas Jones were at full strength.
To make matters even better, Hillis would be reuniting with Chiefs offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. He was Cleveland's OC in 2010, the year Hillis burst onto the scene with 1,177 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. If there's anybody on this earth who knows how to properly use Hillis, it's Daboll.
Arranging a top-notch rushing attack is definitely not as sexy as signing a big-name quarterback (i.e. that Manning guy), but we know from what the Chiefs did in 2010 that they can win with a top-notch rushing attack. They led the league in rushing that season, and the success of their running game took a lot of pressure off Matt Cassel. He was able to throw for over 3,000 yards with a QB rating of 93.0.
We also know that the AFC West is a division that can be won on the ground. The Chiefs won it on the ground in 2010, and the Denver Broncos won it on the ground in 2011. Even if Manning ends up joining the AFC West (most likely with the Broncos), it would still be a division that could be won with good, hard-nosed football.
Joining a team like that should appeal to Hillis. After all, he told Cabot that he values himself as a "hard-nosed" runner, and he figured that there would be teams out there who would "appreciate" that fact.
It's clear that the Chiefs do appreciate Hillis' hard-nosed style. If the admiration proves to be mutual, it's going to be a shock if this thing doesn't end up with Hillis signing on the dotted line.
