Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: 5 Bold Predictions for Superman's Trade Saga
Dwight Howard wants a trade, and that's why I'm bringing you some bold predictions about how this saga will play out.
Howard has dominated headlines for the entire season, as various reports have been thrown out about what the superstar center wants in a new destination and who wants him to come join them.
With everyone else throwing out predictions about where Howard will go and why, I thought I might as well do the same.
He'll Be in a Warm Weather Environment
1 of 5According to various reports, Dwight Howard wants to stay in a warm weather environment.
Whether he is traded now or if he signs with someone in free agency, Howard will end up in a warm environment like Los Angeles, Golden State or Dallas.
One of the leading contenders has been New Jersey. The Nets appear to be the only exception to Howard's warm weather rule.
However, I'm betting that he does not end up in a new arena in Brooklyn with the Nets.
Orlando Will Be in the Mix Until the End
2 of 5Don't expect Dwight Howard to completely abandon the city of Orlando if given the opportunity.
Orlando isn't a huge market, but it is a warm weather spot and the team brass seems to be willing to do whatever it takes to keep Howard.
Even though few are discussing it, there is a considerable chance that Howard will still be wearing the same colors when November rolls around.
The Magic Will Make Changes This Week
3 of 5The Orlando Magic are going to make some kind of move this week.
However, such a move may not include Dwight Howard.
That reasons to believe that Orlando will explore other options. Getting Howard some real help in the frontcourt and finding a dynamic perimeter scorer could be the keys to keeping Howard in Orlando for the foreseeable future.
You can bet the farm on the fact that these moves will be made, especially if Howard stays put.
Dwight Howard Will Not Be a Laker
4 of 5It's true. It will not happen.
The Los Angeles Lakers have made it clear that they are shopping Pau Gasol. However, it has also been reported that the only trade deadline deal in which Andrew Bynum would be involved would be one for Dwight Howard.
Bynum alone won't be enough for the Magic and the Lakers will be hesitant to deal both him and Gasol without other pieces thrown in by the Magic. Unfortunately, the Magic don't have much that the Lakers would want other than Howard.
It has also been reported that Howard wants to be the number one option on his new team just like he is on the Magic. That isn't happening on the Lakers as long as Kobe is around.
Howard won't be the next great Laker center.
Dwight Howard Will Not Win a Championship Within the Next Five Years
5 of 5Dwight Howard will not win a championship within the next five seasons. No matter where he goes, it just won't happen for him.
He'll get close, especially if he goes somewhere like Dallas where he'll have other superstars with him. But he won't get it done.
Teams like Miami and Oklahoma City appear poised to dominate the next decade. His best bet would be with Oklahoma City, but the Thunder already said no thank you.
Howard is now probably closer to the decline of his career rather than the incline. But that won't be why he doesn't win.
He won't win because he isn't the type of player who can beat superstar-laden squads by himself. That's exactly what he wants as the first option on a new team.
His offensive skills aren't good enough, and he comes up too small in big moments.
Book it: Howard is still ringless when 2017 rolls around.
