NFL Rumors: Pursuit of Peyton Manning Is Right Thing to Do for Denver Broncos
John Elway isn't completely sold on the idea of having Tim Tebow as his starting quarterback in 2012, and perfect evidence of this is that he is in full pursuit of Peyton Manning, which is the smartest thing he's done as the main man in charge of the Denver Broncos.
According to Mike Klis and Woody Paige of The Denver Post, Manning will be in Denver on Friday night to visit with the Broncos.
There is no guarantee that Manning will be the same as he was before the neck injury that forced him to miss all of last season. However, we've already seen him throwing some, and it's no secret Manning wants to play again.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
At his press conference where the Colts released him which aired on ESPN2, Manning stated he had no plans to retire.
Elway sees a chance to significantly upgrade at quarterback and is doing the right thing by going after Manning with all he's got. After all, getting Manning would make the Broncos legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
Even though Tebow won the AFC West for the Broncos, their first title since 2005, there were entirely too many times that he struggled a great deal.
Tebow may have been great in the fourth quarter with amazing comebacks, but football is more than just a quarter. Eventually, he won't be able to rely on that and will need to thrive for all four quarters.
It makes perfect sense for Elway and his staff would try to get arguably the greatest free agent in NFL history. That topic certainly makes for a strong debate, but it's best to save that for a later date.
The important thing to note is that the Broncos have an opportunity to get better, which is something every team should strive for in the offseason.
By landing Manning, the Broncos could either trade or keep Tebow. Seeing as how the current people in charge of the franchise weren't the ones who drafted Tebow, having Manning take over would be the perfect way to rid themselves of Tebowmania and all the craziness that comes with it.
Since he is so popular and sells tickets so well, of course a team would be willing to trade for Tebow.
If Elway and his staff want to keep Tebow, though, being able to learn from Manning would do wonders for the young QB. There isn't a greater quarterback out there that Tebow could learn from.
Pursuing Manning is a gamble, but it's one that would bring in huge rewards, and that is why Elway is doing the right thing.
