NFL Rumors: New Orleans Saints to Work out Randy Moss?
Ready for a Randy Moss comeback?
Step one of that process might be in motion this week, as FOX 8 Sports in New Orleans is reporting that the New Orleans Saints are preparing to work out the veteran receiver "very soon." FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer confirmed the report and added that the workout will take place Tuesday.
Moss hasn't played in the NFL since 2010, a year in which he played on three different teams (Patriots, Vikings, Titans) and posted just 28 catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns. He retired in 2011 after he received very little interest as a free agent.

After announcing his intention to play again next season, Moss wasn't thought to have a big market for his service. The Saints might just be the fit he needs.
New Orleans is a logical destination for Moss not because of what the Saints currently have, but what they may lose in the coming weeks.
Marques Colston and Robert Meachem are both unrestricted free agents, and the cap-stapped Saints may not have the money available to re-sign either once they hit the open market on March 13.
Adding Moss, who at age 35 wouldn't cost anything more than what the New York Jets spent on Plaxico Burress last offseason ($3 million), gives the Saints the option of replacing two bigger receivers (Colston is 6'4", Meachem is 6'2) at a discounted price.
New Orleans also reportedly flirted with Moss last season.
The Saints were thought to have interest in Moss after Colston was lost to a shoulder injury against Green Bay in the season opener and Lance Moore was battling hamstring injuries, but the team denied the report.
Now, the Saints will take an official look at Moss, who undoubtedly will be asked to prove he still has the game-breaking speed that helped him catch 954 passes for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns over his 14-year NFL career.
ESPN's Cris Carter said shortly after Moss announced his intention to return to the NFL in 2012 that Moss still has 4.3 speed. If he's anywhere close to that in the work out, he could have a real shot at an NFL return next season.
