Could Hines Ward or Reggie Wayne Be Part of the Jaguars' Offensive Game Plan?
There is no secret as to what the Jacksonville Jaguars will be trying to do free agency and in the upcoming NFL draft.
While there are needs on both sides of the line, the ability to find a better receiving corps and solid pass-blocking has become paramount for the success of the Jacksonville offense.
While media types on sports talk radio here in town speculate (that is what we do best) who may want to come to Jacksonville to catch balls from Blaine Gabbert in Mike Mularkey’s offense, it remains to be seen if any of the high-profile free agents will find Jacksonville appealing to begin with.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There has been so much talk about how young, speedy receivers like Vincent Jackson of San Diego, Marques Colston of New Orleans and DeSean Jackson may be major targets this team will look to sign.
There are other pass-catchers who could be in the radar of this team, two of which the team knows well from years of abuse in the seam and on the outside as a deep threat.
Pittsburgh’s recently released Hines Ward and Indianapolis’s Reggie Wayne could both be available in free agency, and while both are on the short sides of their careers, both could also be very helpful in the development of the Jaguars' second-year passer.
Ward may not be the lead receiver he once was and Wayne needs to find a batter passing attack to be a part of, but both can help this receiving group (we actually do not know who will be back next season) and move chains at the same time.
And Ward knows a thing or two about the playoffs and more importantly, getting that Super Bowl ring.
This is not a Torry Holt move on the Jaguars part.
Holt was at the end of his rope and did not catch a touchdown pass in his only season in Jacksonville (51 catches in 2009). There is still speed in Wayne’s legs and his knowledge of the AFC South will prove to be beneficial. He tore up the Jaguars’ secondary and especially Rashean Mathis over the years.
There will still be plenty of talk about what young stud will be coming to town to become Blaine Gabbert’s favorite playmate (Dwayne Bowe?), but for the best chance at making a direct impact early and often, maybe the Jaguars need to call on a few foes and ask if they want to play with a team full of youth and exuberance.
If you cannot beat them, have them join you.
