Heat vs. Lakers: Bold Predictions for Epic Superstar Showdown

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

The Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat are set to do battle for a second time this season on Sunday, and of course it will once again be nationally televised.

These are two of the most popular teams in the NBA and loaded with superstar talent. They have been to the Finals a combined five times since 2006 and greatness is expected from both sides.

Here are a few predictions on what will happen when these two giants collide in the Staples Center on March 4.

Miami will win, again

Since the trio of Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James was assembled down in South Beach, the Heat have yet to lose a single game to the Lakers.

The three contests haven’t even been close.

Miami’s most narrow margin of victory was on March 11 of last year, when it snapped a five-game losing streak and edged Los Angeles 94-88.

LeBron James will be MVP of game

Wade wasn’t healthy when these two teams first met this season, but it won’t make a difference, as James will be the star once again.

There is simply no one who can contain him on the Lakers roster.

Metta World Peace has been completely ineffective since changing his name from Ron Artest, Matt Barnes’ highlight plays involving James all include him getting swatted, and no other player has the length or athleticism required to D up on King James besides Kobe Bryant.

‘Bron put up 31 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, four steals and three blocks when they last played, and it could get even uglier now that his star SG is healthy.

The Black Mamba will have his hands full with Wade, and there is simply no way LA can stop this one-two punch.

Speaking of Kobe on Wade...

Kobe will foul Wade hard at least once

Bryant is the closest thing you will find to a sociopath in basketball. If you think for a minute he won’t be looking to get even and set things right with his buddy Dwyane Wade for the All-Star Game incident, you don’t know No. 24.

Wade delivered a hard foul to Kobe during the friendly, barely-any-defense-played contest and it resulted in a concussion, broken nose and, subsequently, an unsightly facemask for the Lakers’ star.

Bryant will get his revenge in this game at some point, just watch and see.
