International Friendlies: 10 Best Goals of the Day
Great goals don't have to come in big games.
Wednesday's round of international friendlies may have been meaningless, but they still managed to produce several great goals. Here are 10 of the best.
You've probably already seen Arjen Robben's solo goal against England, and you may have enjoyed Clint Demspey's strike in the United States' historic win over Italy. The rest of these you might not have known about.

Arjen Robben
1 of 10With England and Holland scoreless in the 58th minute at Wembley, Dutch midfielder Arjen Robben started a counter-attack in his own half—and just kept on going.
Robben dribbled 50 yards from his own side of the field to the edge of the England box. He then placed an unstoppable shot into the far corner of English keeper Joe Hart's goal.
The goal was aided by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's diagonal run, which drew two England defenders away from the middle of the field.
Robben didn't need further invitation.
Clint Dempsey
2 of 10Clint Dempsey scored the only goal in the United States' 1-0 victory over Italy in Genoa.
American fullback Fabian Johnson crossed from the left side, finding target-man Jozy Altidore in the middle. Altidore brought down the ball and laid off for Dempsey, who one-touched into the far corner past Italian keeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Dempsey's finish was classy, but this goal was important because it gave the US its first victory over Italy. Ever.
Roberto Soldado
3 of 10Valencia striker Roberto Soldado produced a hat trick of tap-ins as Spain crushed Venezuela 5-0. The goals were Soldado's first three for Spain.
The first was the pick of the bunch—not for Soldado's finish, but as an excellent example of a team goal.
Youssef El-Arabi
4 of 10Spain doesn't have anything on Morocco, apparently.
Decide for yourself by watching this stylish team goal, finished off by Youssef El-Arabi.
Morocco beat Burkina Faso 2-0.
Joel Campbell
5 of 10Costa Rica edged Wales 1-0 behind a goal from Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell.
Campbell, who is currently on loan with Lorient, made a lateral run through the box, collected a pass and shot back across his body to the far post for the game's only goal.
Edinson Cavani
6 of 10When Edinson Cavani is on his game, it's just not fair for his opponents.
Romania found that out Wednesday.
Timo Furuholm
7 of 10Fast forward to 1:47 in the video.
Finland were trailing Austria 3-0 in the 89th minute when they scored this pretty consolation goal by Timo Furuholm.
That's Juhani Ojala with the assist.
Martin Harnik
8 of 10Give it up for Austria's Martin Harnik. Would you commit your body like that with an opposing goalkeeper rushing right at you?
That takes guts. And that's why this is a great goal.
Vladimir Weiss
9 of 10Vladimir Weiss beat five defenders—and the goalie—on the way to an excellent solo goal, the opener in Slovakia's 2-1 win over Turkey.

Stevan Jovetic
10 of 10There's nothing quite like goal scored from a glancing header. The precision and timing needed to pull off the move are impressive—as young Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetic showed against Iceland.
Montenegro won 2-1.
