WrestleMania 28: Why Triple H vs. Undertaker Is Tale of WWE's Elite Iron Men
While many fans viewed another installment of what seems like a never-ending feud between Triple H and Undertaker as the easy way out for WWE, this is a dream match what we will remember forever.
This will be one of the last times we ever get to see two of the business’s greatest iron men put on a show for the fans that made them the legends they are.
In their promos, Undertaker and Triple H have been cutting to the bone and saying some real things about each other. Most of those topics include finishing a legacy and ending a career.

These aren’t words just thrown around; both men are very close to ending their in-ring careers, and it pains them. These emotions are real.
Why Triple H is an Iron Man
While marrying the daughter of the owner of the company you work for ensures your long-term employment, another aspect of Triple H that made him so favorable in the eyes of the McMahons and the fans was his ability to tough out injuries.
Starting in 1999, Triple suffered injuries that would have cause a normal wrestler to fall to his knees and give up. Not Triple H.
After recovering from the ACL tear that had him in a wheelchair and on crutches for months, Triple H tore his quad from the bone in 2001. In case you were wondering, that is as painful as it sounds. With another full recovery behind him, 2007 saw the man tear his quad again, but this time the other leg.
The 42-year-old superstar has been a staple of the WWE for years, and he has given the fans some of the most memorable moments in wrestling history. Any time a man wrestles through injuries, they automatically get a huge bump from the fans, and Triple H has taken some bumps.
Why Undertaker is an Iron Man
If there were any questions from the fans on why the Undertaker is one of the toughest men ever to step foot in the WWE, just look at the extensive list of injuries the star has suffered over the years.
From a broken cheek bone from Mabel, to legitimate burns from pyrotechnics accidents and the torn rotator cuff that has plagued his last few WrestleManias, Undertaker has not only endured the long list of pains, he has worked through it.
As if the constant battling of injuries wasn’t enough to get a fan to respect him as a true iron man, look at the fact that the 46-year-old has been wrestling since 1984 and is still trying to carry epic PPVs with a gimmick.
The Undertaker gimmick would have never worked if it weren’t for the man behind the character selling it so well and being as truly tough as he was. The character worked because people bought that he was a really tough guy. He is.
Why You Want This
When Triple H said that these two men are part of a dying breed, he was 100 percent right. These are the men that didn’t know about concussions and took chair-shot after chair-shot to the head.
These are the guys who risked their bodies and gave their blood, sweat and tears for the WWE Universe for our enjoyment. The reason fans respect both of these stars is because they grew up watching them kill themselves for us, and we respect that.
At WrestleMania 28, the WWE will lower the Hell in a Cell structure over the ring and allow two of the greatest performers ever to grace this stage to give the fans another taste of what wrestling should be.
Knowing full well that this will be one of the last matches for both men, the nostalgia rush will make up for the fact that this match won’t be the best technically and may drag at points.
That’s what going to war for almost 30 years can do to a body.
Any true fan of wrestling will see this match and see a final chance to see history. While you may know the outcome, you don’t want to be the one to miss what could be the grandest of all finales.
