Brady Quinn Questions Tebow's Humility, Fans Should Question Why QB Is Talking

Ryan PhillipsJun 7, 2018

When I saw that Denver Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn had openly questioned teammate Tim Tebow's humility, I had to laugh.

I mean, who really cares what Quinn thinks?

Here's one statement:

If you look at it as a whole, there’s a lot of things that just don’t seem very humble to me.  When I get that opportunity, I’ll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and praying but by praying with my teammates, you know?

"

Reading Quinn's quotes makes him seem like a bitter guy who was passed over for Denver's starting job when Kyle Orton was replaced during the 2011 regular season.

Quinn has no right to be talking, especially considering he has had chances to make it as a starting quarterback in the NFL and hasn't seized them.

In 14 games with the Cleveland Browns during his first three seasons in the league, Quinn was positively awful. He completed just 52.1 percent of his passes for 1,902 yards, with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. His career quarterback rating is a dismal 66.8.

While Tebow certainly has some work to do on his game, his career passer rating is 75.1. His teams are also 8-6 as a starter, while Quinn's are just 3-9.

It's a safe bet that Quinn won't be back in Denver next season, and while he's busy convincing any team in the league to sign him as a backup, Tebow will be preparing himself for his first full season as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Quinn will now be viewed as a guy who stabbed a teammate in the back and when given the chance to praise a fan favorite, he instead gave some bitter quotes he had to know would become public.

You'd think a guy who went to Notre Dame would be smarter than to fall into such a trap, but I guess not.
