Kings vs. Knicks: Jeremy Lin's Performance Proves We Misjudged Him

Eric BowmanJun 7, 2018

Jeremy Lin has been a scoring machine for the New York Knicks, but Wednesday night he focused on sharing the ball, showing that he is a true team player and not a one-man show like most believed.

The Knicks beat the Kings, 100-85, largely in part to Lin's career-high 13 assists. He only attempted six shots and finished the night with just 10 points.

During Lin's previous six games, he scored at least 20 or more points and dropped at least seven or more assists. He was doing a good job in both facets of the game, but most of the Knicks' wins were very close.

Against the Kings, Lin focused on passing the ball more and it resulted in a big victory for New York. Sure, it's only the Kings, but it's a great sign moving forward because it proves the Knicks don't need Lin to score so much all the time.

In Lin's rise to stardom, he's been virtually unstoppable, even displaying his clutch gene by hitting a game-winning shot.

However, his teammates weren't contributing as much as they could've because of him. The young point guard from Harvard once again proved his critics wrong with his performance Wednesday night.

Lin is indeed a true point guard, dishing it out so his teammates can do the scoring. Now that it's very apparent Lin is a complete point guard, the Knicks' confidence has to be through the roof.

New York is shaping up to be a team that doesn't have any weak spot in the starting rotation and that is why other Eastern Conference teams need to fear them.

Just about every team in the league could use a better bench, but when it comes to the starters, the Knicks have it all thanks to the emergence of Lin.

The Knicks don't need Lin to shoot the ball like crazy night in and night out. With Carmelo Anthony set to return soon, Lin's play last night is further proof that the two star players are going to work well together.

Lin can be a scoring machine, but now we know that isn't what he is all about, which is fantastic news for the Knicks.
