WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: 5 Best Chamber Winners Ever

Mike ChiariJun 7, 2018

Few matches in the WWE are more brutal than the Elimination Chamber. Even though the emphasis on PG programming has lessened the amount of blood and brutality seen on WWE television, the chamber match is a departure from that, since it's almost impossible to escape unscathed.

While many have entered the chamber only to be humbled, there are a few superstars who have conquered the steel structure and made it their specialty. Perhaps no match in the WWE can help the winner's reputation more than the Elimination Chamber.

Here are the top Elimination Chamber winners of all time.

1. Triple H

It's only fitting that somebody nicknamed "The Cerebral Assassin" would be the all-time king of the Elimination Chamber. Not only has Triple H competed in six Chamber matches, but he has won four, making him the winningest wrestler ever in the sinister structure.

He has come away with the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the WWE Championship once and earned a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania in 2008.

Many will overlook The Game's accomplishments in the Chamber and chalk it up to him being married to the boss's daughter, but there is no question that Triple H has the mentality and the character to thrive in such brutal matches. He may never be in another chamber match again, but he is undoubtedly the best ever.

2. Edge

While Triple H is the master of the chamber, soon-to-be-WWE Hall of Famer Edge is a close second. The "Rated-R Superstar" has twice won or retained the World Heavyweight Championship in the Chamber, including last year.

On top of that, Edge cashed his Money in the Bank contract in on John Cena after a chamber match at New Year's Revolution in 2006 to win his first world title.

Edge has taken part in some of the WWE's more extreme matches in recent memory. He is probably better known for his prowess in TLC matches, but his dominance in the chamber can't be discounted. Edge has garnered many accolades during his career, and two chamber wins have to be near the top of the list.

3. Shawn Michaels

When compiling a "best of" list for the WWE, no matter what it is, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels is likely to be included. HBK is forever hallowed in the annals of Elimination Chamber history, as he won the very first match of its kind way back at Survivor Series in 2002.

While winning the first-ever chamber match is special, the win was of great importance for many reasons.

For one, it may have been the most star-studded chamber match ever. He outlasted Triple H, Booker T, Chris Jericho, Kane and Rob Van Dam. The victory was also the culmination of a four-year battle back from a major back injury that nearly ended Michaels' career.

While that marked Michaels' only chamber win, he also snuck into the 2010 chamber match to eliminate Undertaker and set up a classic rematch at WrestleMania.

4. Chris Jericho

When Chris Jericho steps into the chamber on Sunday, he will have competed in more chamber matches than any superstar in WWE history, with seven. He has already eliminated more competitors than anyone.

Also, he has a win to his credit in the 2010 SmackDown chamber match, as Shawn Michaels helped him out by eliminating The Undertaker.

The chamber match tends to make the best workers look even better, so it's no surprise that Y2J always comes out of the chamber looking strong. There is a distinct possibility that Jericho will win on Sunday as well, since only he and WWE Champion CM Punk have a legitimate shot.

If he does, then he will join Edge as a two-time winner and likely move up this list in the process.

5. John Cena

It may seem odd that a three-time Chamber winner like John Cena is only No. 5 on this list, but extenuating circumstances land him here. Cena won the WWE Championship in the hamber in 2006 and 2010, but he didn't leave the arena with the title on either night.

After winning it at New Year's Revolution in 2006, Edge successfully cashed in Money in the Bank against Cena, while Batista was granted an immediate title match at Elimination Chamber in 2010 and won the belt from Cena.

Cena also won the RAW chamber match last year, but it was only for the right to face The Miz for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. Cena ultimately lost that match, so all of his chamber wins have been for naught.

There is no denying his winning percentage as he has prevailed in three of the four chamber matches in which he has competed, but he has suffered from some bad luck.
