WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Will the Rock Make an Appearance?
This Sunday, John Cena and Kane will finally put their dreary and uninspiring feud to a rest. Common sense would call for a Cena victory to make him look strong for his high-profile WrestleMania match.
But there is another option: interference from The Rock.
Although he is not scheduled to be on Raw until February 27th, his presence at Elimination Chamber would really get the feud going, escalating it beyond just a Twitter war and some over-the-top video presentations.

A surprise appearance at the last PPV before WrestleMania would be a huge boost to the rivalry. Even if Cena prevails over Kane, which is practically a foregone conclusion, the People's Champ could interrupt the celebration, with a brawl breaking out.
Something along the lines of an all-out brawl would add a different element to this monumental feud. We all know that Cena and the Rock just do not like each other. But besides Twitter, when have we seen them getting heated in the past 10 months?
Sure, each man has got at least one hit with their finisher on the other, but it's time to get serious. Understandably, the WWE probably did not want this type of interaction happening too soon. Now, with WrestleMania season in full gear, it is the time to get down to business.
It would also be about time for Cena to get his shots in against the People's Champ. Ever since hitting the Attitude Adjustment the night before WrestleMania XXVII, The Rock has looked better and tougher in almost every way.
Right now, it is hard to take Cena seriously when it comes to defeating The Rock. His lack of physical aggression toward the Great One (when he's around) and his soap-opera storyline with Kane, Eve and Ryder make it difficult to see him prevailing at the biggest show of the year.
The Elimination Chamber PPV this Sunday should be the beginning of Cena's new persona. No, it most likely will not be a heel turn, but there needs to be some sort of "ruthless aggression" that he brought to the table when he first debuted in the WWE.
A few months ago, we would have worried about The Rock and John Cena having too much interaction, thereby making the feud stale. But now, we need them face-to-face, while both verbally and physically taking it to each other.
Will The Rock make his presence felt at the Elimination Chamber? Probably not, but a well-executed surprise appearance would kick this year-long feud into a new gear.
