Georgia Football: Game-by-Game Breakdown of the 2012 Schedule
Georgia is a team that can compete for a SEC championship this season, especially with there being a lot of question marks surrounding LSU and Alabama. This team returns a total of 16 starters and is looking to experience a great college football season.
This may really be the year that Georgia takes that next step and once again begins competing for a National Championship.
Last year's football season may have just ended, but it's never too early to make predictions.
Here are predictions for the Bulldogs' schedule next year.
Sept. 1: Vs. Buffalo
1 of 12Does this game really need an explanation?
Buffalo went 3-9 last year in the MAC, while Georgia gave LSU a run in the SEC Championship Game.
Uh, I'll go with the Bulldogs.
Prediction: Georgia 54, Buffalo 3
Sept. 8: At Missouri
2 of 12Missouri is going to be a good team in the SEC once they get settled in the conference.
An early game against Georgia is not going to go over well for the Tigers, though. Expect the Bulldogs to win this game fairly easily.
Prediction: Georgia 35, Missouri 10
Sept. 15: Vs. FAU
3 of 12Can we just give the Bulldogs the victory for this game so we can save everybody's time?
The Owls went 1-11 last year and got destroyed by both Florida and Michigan State. Georgia wins in a blowout.
Prediction: Georgia 57, FAU 6
Sept. 22: Vs. Vanderbilt
4 of 12Georgia has won the last 16 of 17 most recent matchups against Vanderbilt.
I don't expect that to change, no matter how well of a job head coach James Franklin is doing for the Commodores.
The game will also be played in Georgia, where a majority of the Bulldogs' backups are better than the Vanderbilt starters.
Prediction: Georgia 36, Vanderbilt 14
Sept. 29: Vs. Tennessee
5 of 12Tennessee is a young and talented team, and if this game was being played in Knoxville, I may have been crazy enough to pick the Volunteers in a upset.
Instead it's in Georgia, a place where Tennessee has lost the last two meetings. I expect the Bulldogs to increase that streak to three games.
Prediction: Georgia 38, Tennessee 21
Oct. 6: At South Carolina
6 of 12Now, this is going to be a fantastic ballgame against two SEC teams that are really on the rise.
As we get closer and closer to this matchup, my prediction will likely switch back and forth. For now, I'm going with the Gamecocks. They're just like the Bulldogs, who are returning a lot of starters; they'll have a healthy Marcus Lattimore at running back and they're at home.
Prediction: South Carolina 34, Georgia 31
Oct. 20: At Kentucky
7 of 12Georgia has won 15 of the last 17 meetings against the Wildcats. Regardless of where this game is being played, you can expect the Bulldogs to pull out a victory as they get prepared for the rivalry game against the Florida Gators.
Prediction: Georgia 45, Kentucky 17
Oct. 27: Vs. Florida (in Jacksonville)
8 of 12Florida is another team that's coming up in the SEC, but I'm not sure there's a quarterback in the SEC who can go toe-to-toe with Aaron Murray.
And if there is, he isn't on the Gators' roster.
This should be a close game for a majority of the contest, but expect the Bulldogs to pull it off late in the fourth.
Prediction: Georgia 34, Florida 24
Nov. 3: Vs. Ole Miss
9 of 12Georgia has won the last nine meetings between these two teams, and you shouldn't expect the Rebels to snap the streak. Ole Miss is a team that went 2-10 last season and couldn't have done nearly enough throughout the offseason to even keep this thing close against an extremely talented Bulldogs team.
Prediction: Georgia 45, Ole Miss 10
Nov. 10: At Auburn
10 of 12I don't see Auburn being able to keep up with the Bulldogs, as they are one of the more complete teams in the country.
They have the offense and defense to compete with anybody, and Auburn still has a few question marks heading into this one.
Prediction: Georgia 34, Auburn 23
Nov. 17: Vs. Georgia Southern
11 of 12The only thing these two teams have in common is the fact that they both have Georgia in their name.
Other than that, there are no similarities.
The Bulldogs will win big as they head into the last game of the season.
Prediction: Georgia 56, Georgia Southern 3
Nov. 24: Vs. Georgia Tech
12 of 12Georgia Tech is a sleeper in the ACC, but I'm not sure they have the weapons on the offensive side of the ball to keep up with the Bulldogs. Quarterback Tevin Washington is a great athlete, but he can't throw the ball with any consistency to keep the Yellow Jackets in this game.
Prediction: Georgia 42, Georgia Tech 23
