Jason Pierre-Paul: Giants Star Smart to Back out of TNA Wrestling Appearance
Jason Pierre-Paul hasn't stopped moving since the New York Giants captured their second Super Bowl title in four years last Sunday. That's why the star defensive end made the right call to decide against making an appearance at tonight's TNA Wrestling taping.
Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com provides the details:
"TNA and Spike TV officials thought a deal was finalized earlier this weekend for Pierre-Paul to have an in-ring confrontation with Kurt Angle at a TNA television taping in Orlando. Bailey, though, said Pierre-Paul had not signed off on the deal before it was reported Saturday by FOXSports.com.
"He declined because he is exhausted," Bailey told FOXSports.com in a text message.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's no surprise to hear Pierre-Paul is worn down after all the appearances he's made over the past week. He was probably running on adrenaline for the first couple days, but the reality of all his stops has finally caught up with him.
He needs to get more selective with where he pops up from here on out because the NFL offseason isn't nearly as long as it seems. Between OTAs, training camp and everything else that goes along with getting in shape for next season, time flies.
TNA Wrestling would love to get a big name like Pierre-Paul to boost its ratings for a week or two like Bart Scott did last year, but going to the show simply isn't worth the effort for the Giants' pass-rushing hero.
Since TNA isn't on the same level as fellow wrestling company WWE in terms of viewership, it's not like Pierre-Paul would receive a major exposure boost by attending the taping, either.
He's better off taking a couple of days for himself to get some rest. Simply taking that time to recharge his batteries will help him survive the offseason a little easier. Different organizations will be calling all summer hoping for him to appear, so learning to say no early is good.
Pierre-Paul would love to keep everybody happy by showing up everywhere, but it simply isn't the best move for him. He's already suffering from exhaustion and it's only been eight days. Could you imagine if he tried to maintain this pace? He'd be toast by the time next season began.
The Giants aren't going to stop him from doing what he wants, but you have to believe they are thrilled he's already scaling back his appearances. If they want to make a run at a repeat, Pierre-Paul needs to be a dominant force once again next season.
The only way he'll be able to do that is by taking it easy for a couple of months and finding ways to get away from everything for a while so he can just chill out.
Opting against a TNA show is a step in the right direction.
