Giants vs. Patriots: TV Schedule, Live Stream and More for Super Bowl XLVI

Tim KeeneyFeb 1, 2012

The New England Giants and New England Patriots head to Indianapolis to battle it out for NFL supremacy at Super Bowl XLVI this Sunday.

Most people will tell you this is a rematch of Super Bowl XLII, but in reality it is a rematch of Week 9, when the Giants knocked off the Patriots 24-20 in New York.

Here's a further look into this year's big game.

What's at Stake?

Oh, not too much. If the New England Patriots win, Tom Brady gets his fourth Super Bowl title and cements himself as one of the best—if not the best—quarterback of all time. Also, the Pats will have their revenge.

If the Giants win, Eli Manning gets his second Super Bowl title and cements himself as an elite quarterback.

A trip to Disney Land is also a stake, so you know it's important.

What They're Saying

Is the Super Bowl really that big of a deal? Well, according to Britney Spears and 4,595 (!) re-Tweeters, it's not:

Fortunately for the rest of us normal people, it is a big deal. But so is national signing day, and as Trey Wingo points out, not everything is a given on NSD.

Well, this 1-star should give the Patriots secondary fits all game long. Crazy.

That's it. No need to even play the game. For the record, I'd rather watch those cute little puppies than listen to Adam Schefter all day.

Against this porous New England secondary? Is there really any question?

Eli Manning is going to have an absolute field day. There's a chance the Giants reel it in, try to slow the game and try to keep Brady off the field, but I bet that plan lasts for about a quarter.

Manning still makes his mistakes, but he has been brilliant this season, especially late in games. Look for that to continue, no matter how much you hate those silly looks he gets on his face.

Uhh, Gisele's hubby, obviously.

Is there anyone else even on this team?

But in all actuality, Tom Brady himself said he "sucked" against the Ravens last week, but he gets a chance to redeem himself. He'll likely be pressured, but guys like Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski (if healthy) make it easy to get the ball out quick.

Prediction

Eli Manning leads a drive late in the fourth quarter to give the Giants a 30-27 lead. During that drive, Victor Cruz catches a ball with just his feet, and that replaces David Tyree's "head catch."

Unfortunately, the Giants give Tom Brady too much time.

Brady is driving down the field, but in the red zone, Jason Pierre-Paul (JPP, Yeah You Know Me) does a flip over the offensive line, sacks Brady and forces the game-ending fumble.

John Madden says "Boom!"
