Super Bowl Predictions 2012: Why Tom Brady Will Hoist 4th Lombardi Trophy
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has had a remarkable season, and the NFL's reigning MVP now has his team in place to win its fourth Super Bowl title. After the year he has had, and considering his extensive experience in the big game, it's hard for me to see Brady and the Patriots losing on Sunday.
During the regular season, the 34-year-old signal-caller completed 65.6 percent of his passes for a career-high 5,235 yards, with 39 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His quarterback rating of 105.6 ranked third in the NFL.
Brady led a Patriots offense that ranked second in the NFL in yards per game (428.0), and was second in passing offense as well (317.8 yards per game). The Michigan product found a way to spread the ball around to all of his weapons.

Receiver Wes Welker led the NFL in receptions (122), finished second in receiving yards (1,569) and scored nine touchdowns. Rob Gronkowski finished second among all NFL tight ends in receptions (90), led them in yards (1,327) and set the single-season NFL record for touchdowns at the position (17).
Meanwhile, veteran receiver Deion Branch had 51 catches for 702 yards and five touchdowns, while second-year tight end Aaron Hernandez wrapped up the regular season with 79 catches for 910 yards and seven scores.
The Patriots have a dominant offense, and apart from a hiccup in the AFC title game against the Baltimore Ravens, that unit has been outstanding during the team's current 10-game winning streak.
To come away with a win on Sunday the New York Giants will have to halt Brady and his offense, and I just can't see that happening. The Giants ranked 27th in the NFL in total defense, this season, and also ranked 29th against the pass, allowing 255.1 yards per game through the air. Unless something drastic happens, I expect Brady to pick New York apart.
Brady is rolling right now, as are the rest of his weapons. Gronkowski probably won't be 100 percent by game time, but he'll be healthy enough to play and contribute. That will be big.
That all leads me to believe that on Sunday Brady will be holding up the Lombardi Trophy for the fourth time.
