Giants vs. Patriots: Super Bowl Prop Bets to Consider
With the Super Bowl simply becoming a bigger event and spectacle every year, the betting world has definitely expanded along with it.
That being said, instead of going toward non-football bets, we're sticking to the game because, after all, none of what's going on this week would be possible without it, right?

More Turnovers: Super Bowl XLII (2) or Super Bowl XLVI?
So, Super Bowl XLII had two turnovers and was a rather low-scoring game with New York winning 17-14.
This time around though, expect more turnovers.
For one, in their regular season meeting, the Giants and Patriots combined for six turnovers and went into halftime with the score tied at zero. Now, there won't be six turnovers in Super Bowl XLVI, as both teams are close to peaking on each side of the ball.
However, for as great as each offense is, we know the defenses are going underrated. The Giants are great at getting quarterback pressure and Tom Brady did throw two picks last week and two against the Giants earlier this season.
Not to mention, the Giants have a solid secondary with Aaron Ross, Kenny Phillips and Corey Webster.
Also, Eli Manning can be interception-prone at times, and the Patriots have a better-than-advertised pass rush with an opportunistic secondary. Then, include special teams and it would be very surprising to see two turnovers or less in this game.
The question in regards to the outcome will simply be who responds?

First Scoring Play of the Game
In their Week 9 matchup there was no score at halftime and the first score was Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes early in the third quarter.
As for the postseason, New York and New England have combined for five games. New York never scored a touchdown first and New England did only in their rout of the Denver Broncos.
That being said, each team's defense is quite impressive when backed up inside its red zone. The Patriots allowed both Denver and Baltimore to score just two of seven times when in the red zone.
The Giants, on the other hand, have allowed their three postseason opponents to combine for scoring only twice in the red zone also. Furthermore, the Falcons, Packers and 49ers only made it to the red zone a combined five times against the stout Giants defense.
Needless to say, unless it's a touchdown pass or a long run, the first score of Super Bowl XLVI will be a field goal.

Total Number of QB Sacks in the Game
During the regular season, the Giants and Patriots combined for recording 98 sacks.
Only two of those came during their regular season matchup.
In the playoffs however, both have combined for 17 sacks in just five games. New York finished the regular season with 48 and has added nine in the playoffs, while New England collected 40 during the regular season and then added eight in the postseason.
On average, that's exactly three sacks per game for each team when you combine the regular and postseason.
As for the players, the Giants front four is extraordinary with Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, Chris Canty and Jason Pierre-Paul. New England however, uses a 3-4 front led by Vince Wilfork, Mark Anderson and linebacker Rob Ninkovich.
And, with each team having explosive offenses, expect the defensive coordinators to divvy up some blitz packages to exploit each weakness.
The worst case-scenario is that we see a lot of three-step drops from both quarterbacks and a low-scoring game.
