WWE Royal Rumble 2012 Results: Why Chris Jericho Really Should Have Won
If Chris Jericho had won the Royal Rumble, there would be fans saying that the ending was too predictable.
But Jericho had the biggest name of anyone in the Rumble and selling a fight with either Bryan or CM Punk would have made the WWE a lot of money.
It is true that the company needs to build up the future of their company in stars like Sheamus and that WrestleMania is fine with Cena and the Rock facing off in the main event, but Jericho wouldn't be building up the event. He would be building up a star.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Most think that he should have won the Rumble and ended up in a match with CM Punk. While that match would have been interesting, it isn't the right one to have made.
Punk has charisma. He could face almost anyone in the WWE and make the match work.
Daniel Bryan on the other hand, is just starting to get over with the fans. While a heel versus heel match wouldn't make as much sense as having one wrestler be the "good guy," Jericho is a great performer and would make it work.
He could get Bryan over with the crowd and make it so that his aggressive persona stuck and grew on viewers.
Punk and Jericho are charismatic because they have the talent, but also because the WWE viewers have had a chance to grow attached to them and connect. A match between the two would generate revenue and invest the audience, but it wouldn't do anything for the company's future.
Putting Bryan over in a match with Jericho would. He would be able to get a complex character across to the fans and instantly get recognized by even casual fans who only watch matches with big-name wrestlers.
That isn't even including the fans that Jericho would bring from his stint on Dancing with the Stars. As much as wrestling fans might disparage shows like that (a bit ironic considering what is said about wrestling fans), it does bring in more media and eyeballs.
And they would find not only Jericho, but Bryan as well. After all the years of wrestling all over the world, Bryan would finally have his chance to make it to the main stage.
Unfortunately for Bryan and the fans, Jericho didn't win and now we have to hope the WWE gives its smaller champion a shot at a big name another way.
