Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines Hoping Josh Garnett Joins Top OL Class
The Michigan Wolverines already have the top offensive line recruiting class, according to Rivals.com. They could get even better if they add Josh Garnett, the No. 2 offensive guard prospect in the nation and best player left on the board.
His last meeting was with coach Brady Hoke on Sunday night, and he will be announcing his decision at a 3:00 p.m. press conference at his school, Puyallup High in Washington.
According to Tom VanHaaren of ESPN, he has narrowed his choices down to Michigan and the Stanford Cardinal.
It sounded like Garnett absolutely enjoyed Michigan, and it will be a tough call.
""That was the last in-home visit. I had Stanford before that, and then this one," he said. "I'm definitely down to those two, and they both have different things that make them great."
He added, "Coach Hoke talked to my mom a lot, and she hadn't met him before. He talked a lot about what it meant to be a Michigan man and how you represent your family."
"
Hopefully Hoke buttered up Mrs. Garnett quite a bit and she was able to convince him to join a potential All-American class of offensive lineman headed to Ann Arbor this season.
Hoke has already gotten some form of commitment from top-ranked tackle Kyle Kalis, 3-star tackle Ben Braden, 4-star tackle Erik Magnuson and 4-star guard Blake Bars.
If they can add Garnett, whoever might be running the ball or throwing the rock in the Big House is going to be safe for years to come with such an incredible amount of young talent on the way.
