National Signing Day 2012: Alabama Crimson Tide Will Rule All Recruiting Classes
Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide have the best overall 2012 recruiting class in the country, and it's going to stay that way once National Signing Day has passed.
February 1 is the first day recruits can sign national letters of intent to schools, and the Crimson Tide will again reign supreme over everyone else, much like they did on the football field this past season, winning the BCS National Championship Game.
Currently, Alabama has 27 recruits verbally committed, which isn't good because Saban isn't quite done with bringing in more talent. Since the Crimson Tide are oversigned as it is, they'll have to make some adjustments.
Chase Goodbread of the Tuscaloosa News tweeted a response from Saban about National Signing Day coming up.
With some of the best recruits in the country having interest in Alabama, Saban wouldn't be very bright to just turn them away.
No. 1 overall recruit Dorial Green-Beckham has Alabama in his top five, and Eddie Goldman, No. 1 defensive tackle, also has the Crimson Tide high on his list.
When you consistently win in the toughest conference in college football, the big-time recruits are going to want to play for you.
For the past four years, Saban and Alabama have had a top-three recruiting class. That trend will definitely continue for 2012, and winning the BCS title certainly makes things easier for the Crimson Tide.
As of today, Alabama has nine verbally-committed recruits in the Rivals Top 100, and the Crimson Tide have also landed 12 recruits in ESPNU's Top 150, four of which are in the Top 25.
Saban has done a tremendous job landing some of the nation's best players, and since he isn't finished, Alabama will continue to stay ahead of everyone else in the 2012 recruiting rankings.
