5 Reasons Why Kurt Angle Needs to Return to WWE
Sometimes it is just nice to be wanted. But in this case, the WWE wanting former world champion Kurt Angle to return to his original home received a resounding "No" from the 1996 Olympian.
In a story released by whatculture.com, Angle said the WWE has approached him about making a return to the company he left in 2006, but he’s determined to stick with TNA.
Angle, who at 43 years old is still a huge part of TNA's plans in the world title picture, is a five-time TNA World Champion and most recently was involved in angles with both current TNA World Champion Bobby Roode and former TNA World Champion James Storm, who beat Angle for the title.
Although he has said "no" at this time to his former employers, would Angle consider a change of scenery at a later date? Angle is signed to TNA through 2014. And according to the article, the WWE has been pursuing other TNA talent, such as Rob Van Dam.
Here are some reasons why the WWE needs Kurt Angle more than ever.
His Potential Feud with Christian Would Be Epic
1 of 5In TNA, the two were at odds with the Coalition and the Main Event Mafia. It was as close to anything NWA-like with the Horsemen and other stables.
Christian and Angle would provide a steady storyline that could have some real traction.
Both are great in-ring competitors and awesome on the mic.
An "instant classic" would be reborn.
'Oh, It's True! It's Damn True!'
2 of 5When Angle started in the WWF, he did not know the nuances of wrestling and the need to be good on the mic and in the ring and to be the showman who everyone either loved or hated.
Now, almost 15 years later, he is one of the best in the business.
And his "Oh, it's true!" catchphrase still resonates within the company. If he goes back to a humble-looking wrestler who needs to be guided, the WWE will hit on success again.
Angle vs. Punk
3 of 5The Olympian and master of submission holds vs. the over-the-edge wrestling favorite.
The two would light up a storm and bring down the house. Does this make Angle a heel? No, but it may not make Angle one, either.
There are times when having two favorites compete makes wrestling special. The WWE could have that with this kind of a rivalry.
Amazing Locker Room Presence
4 of 5One thing about Angle is he does it better than almost everyone in the business.
And that energy can be felt by everyone around him. Wrestlers like Kane, Undertaker and John Cena show day in and day out that leading by example can only make the younger wrestlers better in and out of the ring.
There Are so Many Ways He Can Be Used in the Company
5 of 5A feud with Daniel Bryan. A feud with Randy Orton. A war with Wade Barrett.
Maybe he challenges Chris Jericho or how about coming into the WWE and teaming with Rob Van Dam and leading a new wave of tag team wrestlers?
Whatever the reason, having Angle in the fold and on the roster means there is more opportunity, more viability and more fan base to draw from.
