WWE News: MVP to Make a WWE Return Soon?
The last time we saw MVP in a WWE ring was over one year ago, on December 3, 2010. However, in a recent interview—transcribed by 411Mania.com—MVP may be considering a return to the company that made him a star.
Here is what the former U.S. champion had to say about the matter:
"There are some new guys there that show some promise. I've never had the opportunity to work with Daniel Bryan, who is one of my favorites. On the indies I loved the American Dragon. I thought he was an incredible talent. Randy Orton and I almost had a feud when I came over to Raw, and for whatever reason, they put the brakes on it. I'd like to work a program with Randy. The one match Randy and I had was awesome. We just went out there and worked. He praised me afterward. Some people say Randy can be a hard guy to get along with. I get along great with Randy. The one time we actually got to work on Monday Night Raw, we had a great match, and I had an awesome time. I can't forget CM Punk, my boy from FIP [Full Impact Pro Wrestling]. He is at the top of his game now. We had the opportunity to work once on the indies, and we had one match in [WWE's] ECW. I would love to work a program with him. That would be great. If I did come back, I think I would want to be exclusive to SmackDown. I think I would want to go back there and help that brand and some of the younger guys.

Without a doubt, Montel Vontavious Porter has the right attitude for a return. A talent of his caliber—in the ring and on the microphone—would be an invaluable asset.
Obviously, the passion is still there, as evidenced by the way he describes wanting to work with individuals like Randy Orton, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.
Moreover, the fact that MVP mentions wanting to assist the up-and-coming talent should be a sign that he would not let his ego get in the way of what's best for the WWE.
In the meantime, though, if the WWE would have him back—and, by all intents and purposes, they would, given the fact he left the company on good terms—MVP would fit right in on Raw or SmackDown.
Notwithstanding the fact SmackDown is MVP's preference, the blue brand could probably use "The Ballin' Superstar" a little more because Raw is currently stacked with ample star power.
Suffice to say, if his recent interview is any indication, there's a great chance we'll see MVP back in a WWE ring once his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expires.
(Author's Note: According to MVP himself, he is not under contract with NJPW as first reported by Dave Meltzer in his Sunday update)
Additional notes: MVP via his Twitter account had this to say about his status with NJPW:
"Thanks for the kind words but I NEVER signed a contract with NJPW outside of my being exclusive to them IN Japan.
I'm a free agent with NJPW. I can leave when I choose to. However for the foreseeable future, I choose not to. Thank you
"
MVP's comments reveal that, although he may not have a contract with NJPW, he has a "handshake deal" where he works certain dates agreed upon. Such a "pay per basis" arrangement gives him the freedom to leave whenever he likes.
